Hi! You quoted me in the SF wanting to know about the Case of Pietro fiasco. Rather than explaining it in the thread (because it's off topic), I'm just going to explain it here.
The Case of Pietro was a 749 CG E.I. made by reapersun. Unfortunately, because Gaia realized they hit lighting in a bottle with the then-new RIGs/CIs, too much of the work for the new RIGs/CIs was given to reapersun and the Case ended up not evolving for long periods of time. There was, no joke, an entire year at one point between a single evolution. Before the Case of Pietro, there was an unofficial standard for evolving items; 749 EIs evolved about once a month, on average, leading to many, many complaints in the SF arguing about the delays and whether or not artists should be held to unofficial schedules. The incident (and the outcry in the SF) lead directly to both the discontinuation of normal EIs and the creation of REIs (which update on a given schedule.)
