The Gift Horse

Which albums are you missing?

Yeah, Primus is one of my top 5 favourite bands. Here's the bass I've been looking at getting for a long time now. Its currently a bit out of my price range though.

The amount of Primus I listen to really draws me toward learning slap-bass. But good bass guitars are rather expensive.

That's understandable. Do any of them play slap-bass?

Oh nice. I'd like to own a banjo. I think a bass guitar is a higher priority right now, though.

Well, if you can't motivate yourself to read the sheet music, you could always play it by ear wink

Oh man, I just found a ukulele in the basement

I never took lessons, so I had difficulty figuring out where to start. I just started figuring out how to play other songs just to get the hang of it, and started expanding from there.

You need inspiration. My guitar just kinda sat around collecting dust until I started listening to more blues. Now I practice pretty regularly.

Playing a keyboard isn't too bad either. It doesn't have to be anything needlessly complex to sound good. You just have to find a good rhythm to synergize with other instruments. Or have a casio like Wesley Willis.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llnWYxZ6oKU take this song, for example. The keyboards sound great, but it's also incredibly simple. I don't think she hits more than 5 keys throughout the whole song.

Yeah, I think that calling a genre "emotive hardcore" was a really bad move in the first place. It was pretty much destined to breed mass confusion.

On an unrelated note, I wish I knew what happened to all of my guitar picks. I had to cut one out of a card and it's disintegrating.

Oh yeah, that's perfectly normal, here. There aren't many interesting topics to be found. When I first started coming to the MF, I found myself playing the various song games and rarely actually conversing. I did meet a few cool people doing that.
