Same here. Since moving out on my own I've come to appreciate my veggies.
Having to work and live and maintain my own life I notice the difference a good diet makes.
That and there's no value in paying a dollar for a half box of processed processed (to the power of infinity) cheese and bleached macaroni.
I eat like a king for nothing now. Ten minutes to put together a grease-less baked meal, and done.
And it only confirmed my suspicion about value in food: That the more expensive the cheese, the better value it is.
If it's aged more, it tastes stronger, and you use less of it. Less fat, more taste.

Seriously, Perogies fried up in a pan of bacon and onions is one of the tastiest possible things!
Unless of course you mean that bacon is revolting (verb) against, say, the government or being eaten.

And I eat it with cinnamon and brown sugar.
+10 respect.
