You click this button that sais "Chat now!" and it randomly matches you up with someone. You can start conversations with people you know if you like though.

Yeah, pretty much. It's meant to be a one-on-one chat but there are rooms that you can go to to talk with multiple people at once or start your own.

Yeah, you have to download the client. The only thing I don't like about it is that maybe 5% of the people on there can you actually have a conversation with.
