You'd be surprised what tools can save a life.
There really isn't much to say about me. I used to be a junkie. Yeah, that's right. A junkie. I shot up drugs all the time, and didn't give a damn if they were bad for me or not. I craved them like a murderer craves bloodshed.
Ironically, I was captured by a so-called "murderer" named Jigsaw. I had heard about him, but I didn't really know much more than what I had learned from the news. When I woke up, I was in a room, with a strange metal contraption on my head. Just as I began freaking out, a nearby TV started to crackle, and a puppet's face appeared on the screen. I'll never forget the words that puppet said...
"Hello, Amanda. You don't know me, but I know you. I want to play a game. Here's what happens if you lose. The device you're wearing is hooked into your upper and lower jaws. When the timer at the back goes off, your mouth will be permanently ripped open. Think of it like a reverse bear trap. Here, I'll show you."
He used a mannequin to demonstrate what the device would do: the mannequin's jaw was ripped apart, with the top half pulled upwards, and the bottom pulled downwards. I instantly began to panic, and, as if it knew the questions arising in my mind, the voice began to speak again.
"There is only one key to open the device. It's in the stomach of your dead cellmate. Look around, Amanda. Know that I'm not lying. You better hurry up. Live or die. Make your choice."
I would not let that happen to me. I made my decision: I sliced open the man on the floor and retrieved the key to the device. The device came off once I unlocked it, and I was able to go free. I immediately went to the police, where I was questioned for what seemed like an eternity.
Eventually, I realized something: he was testing me because I was a junkie. I needed to appreciate my life rather than waste it on drugs. So I came clean.
Of course, coming clean doesn't always mean you're out of trouble...
... because I woke up in a room with boarded windows and a safe in the middle of the floor. There were other people in the room, and none of them knew how they had gotten there. Then it hit me: I was in yet another one of Jigsaw's little "tests". What had I done wrong this time...?
Right. I had been arrested for possession of drugs, and while I was in prison, I got into the habit of cutting myself. Even when I was released, I couldn't break the habit I had formed. Jigsaw apparently didn't like that, so he decided that I needed another lesson.
I found a tape recorder in the wall, and hit the play button, only to hear the all-too-familiar voice crackle through the speakers...
"Greetings and welcome. I trust that you are all wondering where you are. I can assure you that, while your location is not important, what these walls offer for you is important: salvation, if you earn it. Three hours from now, the door to this house will open. Unfortunately, you only have two hours to live. Right now you are breathing in a deadly nerve agent. You've been breathing it since you arrived here. Those of you familiar with the Tokyo subway attacks will know its devastating effects on the human body. The only way to overcome it and walk out that door is to find an antidote. Several are hidden around this house. One is inside the safe in front of you. You all possess the combination to the safe. Think hard. The numbers are in the back of your mind. The clues of their order can be found over the rainbow. Once you realize what you all have in common, you will be in a better understanding of why you're here. 'X' marks the spot for that clue, so look carefully. Let the game begin."
Since I had "played" before, I was the unofficial leader of the group. However, one of the traps Jigsaw had set for another one of the "players" didn't settle well with that player, and he shoved me into the pit of syringes that awaited him. I was able to retrieve the key, but I wasn't able to escape unscathed. A young boy named Daniel helped me nurse the wounds, and we were able to continue.
Once again, I was able to escape the "game". The only thing was... I had help.
I had become Jigsaw's apprentice even before the game began. Which leads us to our next topic...
I decided to help Jigsaw with his next little "game" as well, though this time, I wasn't one of the players. He needed a medical expert, so I did what he instructed and kidnapped Lynn Denlon, a local doctor and surgeon.
The game played out, and I discovered that he was testing me after all, but after all I did to win his favor, after all the trouble I went through, I ultimately failed to live up to his expectations. The doctor's husband found us, and shot me in the throat. Somehow, I survived... I don't know how, but somehow, I was spared.
And now another game is about to begin... and I'm the one carrying it out.
... I do miss my little John John, though. He was a cute ol' cancerous murderer, he was. T3T
