Hmmmmmmm........... A name, you say? Need I quote Shakespeare? Because then I'd have to go look up that silly bit about roses.
So:
I am person who lives somewhere.
I am a female and I like to look at myself in the mirror.
I sing in the shower and in front of audiences A) with a chorus and B) alone whenever I can. I sing when I cook, when I drive, and when someone else is also singing and they won't punch me for singing too.
I'm an Acoustic Engineer and I spend a lot of time writing stuff that may one day be published.
My favorite things to think about are: myself, hard to understand theories (think quantum physics and black holes), things I hate and whether or not I am justifid n hating them (like religion), fairies, how much sleep can I get away with, what kind of food I feel like eating, how I would write thing differently(and undoubtedly better) in various books/moves/television shows.
People are silly.
I like things. And non things.
I like thinking, finding solutions, red colored fruit, potatoes, garlic, black clothing, sleeping, dreaming, singing, being right, and laughing. Occasionally I ride my moms horses, and use the kyacks I built. Rarely I hang out with humans other than my sisters and my husband. My cats are the best. Everything else is subject to moodiness.

Mexico has free elections, and up until the Cartels War, people felt safe going to vote. Same with Iran. As for Iraq and Afghanistan, it's a mixed bag, since the US has turned a blind eye to their leaders rigging elections, as their opponents aren't always as pro-West as they are. All in all, it's more of the same; US supports "son of a b***h" after "son of a b***h" so long as they're "our son of a b***h," even if it's harmful to us and the world in the long run. FDR was awesome, beeteedubs.
Debatable. Before we joined in either war, we did arms deals to both sides and made a killing. Following the war, we helped reconstruct Europe (Marshall Plan) establishing us a lot of economic and soft (reputational) power. The US is very calculated in its diplomacy, and in the past it proved good. Up until the Cold War. Our policies ever since have been detrimental to the US at large, except for Détente, which was genius and all around beneficial. Détente is actually my policy towards the Middle East, but ********, let's be inflammatory instead. We could fix our issues with Iran (since we're the reason they hate us so much), but we're not gonna do that. Add the fact that we treat Israel like our darling and s**t gets worse. I really ought to be a policy analyst, come to think of it. It'd be a much more fun career, and I'm trained for it. biggrin
And I'm not sure I get your question. Our power isn't from martial conquest. It's largely from profiteering from two world wars.
The US in the past and present has taken courses of action that would be viewed as unethical or unfair. We frown upon nations who attempt to take similar courses of action, because it's not fair. It's why we hate China so much; they're really good at being us fifty years ago. As for Mexico, NAFTA was calamitous for Mexican agriculture because although the agreement called for free trade between the regions, the US refused to lift subsidies on corn and wheat in the US, which prevented Mexican farm exports from being competitive in the North American market, which shut them down, effectively.
Next, you asserted that the US is not responsible for issues in other nations. I could list a few easy ones, where the US, in an attempt to fight the Red Communist threat, deposed democratically elected leaders in favor of cruel and tyrannical dictators. See: Saddam Hussein, Augusto Pinochet, and the Shah of Iran Fazlollah Zahedi. The US is notorious for having its fingers in other countries' pies.
Your idea that other countries could be like the US if they just adopted our policies is erroneous. Domestic politics, local cultures, and economy are several factors that can lead to differently shaped architectures of states. It's nowhere near as easy as I think you think it is.
