To get your profile to look like the preview you saw on Gaia Tools, you'll want to use the 'Custom' setting for Classic profiles (you can find this under My Gaia->Settings->Profile Options, and use the dropdown near Theme Override). Nearly all of the premade themes on Gaia Tools are made for the Custom setting.
