I cannot wash it off;
The Bruise, The Blood, The Sin
Has left me with the thought
Of broken dreams and shattered hearts,
And all my wars unfought.
I close my eyes for the dreams,
Of a world that is my own.
But the blood that ruins my eyes tells me
That I can only hope.
I cannot wash it off;
The Boogeyman; He comes for Me;
In the darkness I cannot see
The Clank and Clunk of the Axe;
Which he'll use to strike my back;
Is all I hear;
My only fear;
I cannot stop; what I cannot see;
The Boogeyman; He comes for Me!
I cannot wash it off;
I come face to face with my fear;
My beating heart he only hears.
I back up to the wall and cry:
"Please. Oh, Please! I cannot die!"
But he has so soul; no remorse for me
As he raises his rusty Axe with glee.
A Sneering Face;
A Howling Laugh;
He wants me dead, I know for fact.
I cannot wash it off;
As he slices through my skin with ease;
He still completely ignores my pleas.
As I scream; I kick and shout;
As he ripped my insides out.
The tearing skin; My beating heart,
I knew I was dead from the start.
I knew this would happen before it began;
There is no running from the Bogeyman!
I cannot wash it off;
I cried out please;
But he did not freeze.
He still continued to murder me.
I cannot wash it off;
My heart pulsated within his grasp,
The pain felt real; but I could not gasp.
He wrung me dry, My blood ran out.
I knew what came next, there was no doubt.
He chopped off my Hands; And cut out my Tongue.
And in a Treacherous tone he sung:
"Those who Lie, I come for Thee"
"Dealing punishment in the highest Degree."
"A Cut and a Tear,"
"A Snip and a Slice"
"Everyone knows I have no Vice."
"I take the prize without my pay,"
"Because my name I will not convey."
"I am Unknown."
"I work alone."
"My name you will not know."
"I will tell you this although,"
"I Am The Boogeyman."
I cannot wash it off;
The Blood; It stains and runs so deep,
I cannot dream; I cannot weep.
My life ends here,
As my skin grows cold,
And my eyes bleed red of blood so bold.
The last thing I hear,
The last thing I see,
Is The Boogeyman staring down at me.
He laughs out loud,
A hissing grin,
He knows only he can win.
As he walks away,
I begin to bleed out.
I cannot scream, I cannot shout.
The blood has stained my broken arms,
my broken legs and broken heart.
I cannot move,
It can't be doffed.
I cannot wash the blood stains off.
