I force myself not to belong to any one thing
for I say I own myself and my thoughts

I see things in words and music and dance
I almost feel their vibes when I do

Distant worlds bring me pleasure,
but fleetingly can I stay
Everything ends, an empty end when it does

I’m distressed by my future
and haunted by my past
But living in the present never lasts

It’s painful to talk
keeping in mind who listens (or may be listening)

Words are my haven and writing my art
More then voice and motion
More then smiles and laughs
I confide and do not hide in my script
