A Knight's Tale
A damsel of high quality
Became enamored one day
With one she found most charming
But a man of woman play.
She thought he was good inside
That she could change his way.
She was wrong however,
But that she would never say.

The damsel tried to hide it
As the days got long and weary
Her countenance was happy
But her eyes had gotten teary.
Those around could feel it
And everyone was leery
But it was I, the lowly knight,
Who finally made a query.

At first she feigned surprise
That I would make a leap
Toward her dirty secret
Under the carpet she would sweep.
I would not press for answers
Until I saw her weep.
Only then would she tell me
What happened in that keep.

She told everything
And used my shoulder to cry
I could not believe my ears,
But knew she would not lie.
Bad treatment she recieved
And it made her want to die,
To end her shining spirit,
And float into the sky.

With little more, I was off
To find this evil lord
And when I saw his dreadful face,
Almost drew my sword.
I calmed myself to face him, though,
There being in anger no reward.
And fought using a stronger blade I know
The force of spoken word.

Almost my polar different,
He wanted angry quarrel.
I did not appease the monster,
And I held fast to my laurel.
He could not stand my stalwartness
And after hours of my moral,
He gave the damsel to me
And cursed me from this world.

Now we live a happy life,
Me and the damsel on my arm.
She is truly happy now
And is without alarm.
For now the man is far, far away
That had don her harm.
When I finish being a knight,
We'll retire to my farm.

I love this poem so much sweetie. I hope you become inspired more in life; I'll read this forever and it will never get old. I couldn't have written a more beautiful poem.

Yes, I know, it's pretty sad that I just read this today. Anyway, really nice. I have to say that I could never write a poem like that. Then again, I'm really bad at poetry, so that's not saying much. Anyway, really awesome, especially how you managed to put that all in rhyme.
