As a child I lye there,
Shaking and scared.
As a child I lay there,
Hopping mommy was all right.
As a child I lay there,
Knowing I was alone.
As a child I lay there,
Hopping I would make it through the night.
As a child I prayed,
That my mommy wouldn't die.
As a child I prayed,
I wouldn't be hurt in my sleep.
As a child I prayed,
That mommy would come home.
As a child I prayed,
That mommy would hold me in my sleep.
As a child I prayed,
For someone to save me.
No one ever saved me,
No one ever took me away from the loneliness,
No one ever answered my prayers.
Was I not good enough for god to save me?
Was I not good enough for my mommy's love?
Was I not good enough to be alive?
Now as I lay there,
I know I will not be saved.
Now as I lay there,
I don't pray to a god who has forsaken me
