Beware of scammers!
Well, let's start. When you enter in Gaia, you're quite impressed with everything, all the possibilities, and you receive a mail from someone claiming to be a mod and they claim your PW saying it will give you an improvement of some sort. What do you do?

REPORT 'EM!

There is no such thing like mods begging for your password. Anyways, why would they beg for something they already have in their server systems and backups? Think about it... It wouldn't make sense, right?

So, who sent that mail to you?

A SCAMMER, OF COURSE!

Some newbies (and some not so newbies) mistake hackers and scammers. A hacker invade systems. They can steal (well, copy is the right term) passwords. So, they won't need to beg for a password if they want... And I think they would prefer passwords from people that started about the same year Gaia opened, and always buys Monthly Collectibles than newer users ones... But they don't even bother about this kind of things, they're more occupied working to an enterprise to discover security holes for them.

A scammer, due to the fact they're lazy AND stupid, won't burn the two neurones they have to learn how to hack... They'll prefer to use very old tricks. Asking for your PW, or saying in the Boards to type it in some weird form to win an Angelical whatever are some of their ways...
(I won't name too much ways they do, I don't want to give ideas to those @#$%&, I'll only say that everything involves your PW.)

"A hacker stole my PW, and someone said I got CGed, what is this?"
Well, you were not hacked, and they're right, the correct term is CGed, or Cookie-Grabbed.

"But what does it mean?"
It means you got in a scammer page, and they used a stupid program that copy your cookies. The internet cookies are where all the navigation infos are stored, without them, you'd have to log in into Gaia any page you'd visit, and it would be BORING.

"How can I prevent to be CGed?"
I'd advice you to use Firefox or Opera, and avoiding acess gaian pages outside Gaia domains, but it would be unfair to marvelous gaian pages like too many DeviantArts and Tektek.org. The only thing I can tell you is to check very well if someone posts outside links in Gaia, especially if they offer too much to believe this can be true. And you can only log in at gaiaonline.com... Exceptions can occur, but they're quite rare. O_o

"Is this everything?"
I think it is, but if you noticed something way different from these examples, let me know, and I'll alert everyone who reads these journals, yeah, all the 4 ones. xd
