Paris, France
First we took a short walk to the Eiffel Tower to take pictures. One must be very careful in Paris. Very Careful. There are pick pockets and scammers and beggars. Next we went to the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Very pretty church. Everything was very sombre and silent.
Next, on to the Louvre. THAT PLACE IS AWESOME!!!! heart heart heart I want to live in the Louvre. Hide in the ventilation ducts, they won't suspect a thing! mrgreen We saw all the coolest highlights of the Louvre: The Venus de Milo, Winged Victory, and the Mona Lisa. The REAL, ACTUAL, GENUINE Mona Lisa. It was in this super thick glass and there was this railing all around it to prevent people from getting too close. I was surprised that people were aloud to take pictures of it, even with the flash on. Ate lunch there too.
Lunch: Burger, fries, and Sprite! mrgreen
Then we went to MontMartre to see the Sacre Coeur. That church was just as pretty on the outside as it was on the inside. And the Sky was the most beautiful blue....
Later that night, we took a boat ride to the Eiffel tower again but this time we actually went up it. The top floor was closed because it got over-crowded, but we were able to go to the 2nd floor. I took pictures of the view of Paris at night from atop the Eiffel tower.
The tower was beautiful that night. Nicolas Sarchosy had been named President of Europe for 6 months (some EU thing, I don't know) and in celebration, had the 12 stars of the EU flag put on the tower and special lights set up to make the tower be completely blue. It was the most incredible experience. I actually spazzed out while taking pictures. I was crying and breathing heavily and babbling "I'm on the Eiffel Tower!" over and over again. It was INCREDIBLE. I don't think I'll ever forget that. Got back to the Hotel around 12:45, exhausted as all Hell. Señor gave us a late wake up call though. That's good. Don't remember if I bought anything today because I'm so damn tired. I forgot what I ate for dinner too.
