This sounds very interesting!

I'd be interested in doing this rp with you, if you'd like. I also don't mind a mature theme to an extent; I just don't go as far as actually cybering.

Sorry about that. "Mature" in this case means the story can probably contain more than a romance, but also darker themes and greyzones of ethics, leaving innocents their fate and such.

Ah, I see. Well in that case, I don't have any problem with mature. I tend to have darker themes in a lot of my rps.

The directions mercifully came with a draft map that leads into a small gloomy side alley. There are only a dumpster and some trash cans in here. Only after moving deeper one can find old heavy door reinforced with large steel plate that is heavily dented in many places, some even looking like bullet marks, but none of them recently made.
Next to the door is an ancient looking number plate on the brick wall and under it a similarly seasoned home phone.
The recruitment indicted generous payment, but this looks like a back entrance at best. At worst … better not think about it.

Ice came to a stop as she reached the turn off that the map showed, looking up and arching an eyebrow curiously when she found herself looking down an ally. A tiny, dirty, gloomy alley at that. She must have taken a wrong turn somewhere or something, she thought. But when she looked at both the directions and the draft map again, she saw that she was in the right area. Ice sighed, the air ruffling her bangs out of her eyes as she squinted a bit to try to see what she could make out. From the sidewalk, the only thing that she could see was some trash cans, all of them overflowing with trash and a couple of them were turned over on their sides. There was also a large dumpster taking up a large amount of the alleyway as well.

"Seriously?" she muttered under her breath. Maybe it was a joke or something, she began to think. The ad itself had been. .. odd, to say the least. The only thing normal about it had been that it was for some sort of personal protection. Which, that was right up Ice's alley (no pun intended), she'd been in that business for awhile now and she happened to be in desperate need of a job at the moment. Well, that and a place to stay, which the ad had said that they were offering housing as well. Hence why she'd followed such vague ad. A vague ad that hadn't even bothered to put a phone number or email address where she could reach whoever was hiring. Ice paused for a moment, chewing on the inside of her cheek. Any normal person in their right mind wouldn't willingly go wandering down a dark, gloomy, deserted alleyway following some ad. It was something right out of some scary movie where you sit there, yelling at the screen and trying to tell the idiot not to go that way. Which of course, they do anyway, and then they end up getting hacked up by some serial killer and being the first victim in a string of murders.

Hmm, guess it was a good thing that ICe wasn't normal, huh? Truthfully, the dark alley didn't really bother her. She was fully capable of taking care of herself, so she didn't really have to worry about whoever and whatever might be lurking about in the darkness. Hmm, maybe that sounded a bit cocky. Ice wasn't cocky, she was just confident in her abilities. Shaking the thoughts of, she sighed again and walked farther into the alley. At first she didn't see anything other than the trash and was beginning to think that either someone was pulling a prank, or they were seriously bad with directions. Just as she got about halfway down the alley and was about to give up and leave, she spotted a large, old door. Moving closer to it, she saw that it had a large steel plate reinforcing it. And upon moving closer, the dents came into view. Frowning a little, Ice walked the rest of the way over to take a closer look, running her hand over the dents. There were a few that were too odd shaped to be able to make out what might have made them, but a few looked suspiciously like bullet holes.

She'd seen enough of those to know one when she saw it. She inspected them a little farther, and while it was hard to tell, she would venture to guess that they had been there for at least a little while. Not recently, anyway. Stepping away from the door a little, she spotted a number plate on the wall, which looked to have been there for years, along with an old and abused phone. Ice pursed her lips, looking curiously at the phone. Was she suppose to knock on the door, or use the phone and call the number on the plate? Ice sighed, raising her hand to run it through her hair for a moment. Something about the whole thing felt off, to say the least. Supposedly, the job offered good money. Yet the place that she'd been sent didn't look like they could afford a light bulb, much less a nice paycheck.

But, not wanting to waste the trip there, and never having been one to run from a challenge, Ice shrugged and walked over to the phone. Picking it up, she dialed in the number on the plate and waited to see what happened. If that didn't work, she'd move on to trying to knock on the door. After that. . . she supposed she'd just have to chalk it up to being a joke and leave.

Before the young woman's hand could touch the phone a friendly voice of a man sounded.
"Can I help you miss?" The clarity of its sound made it seem as if the man was standing right in front of her and not from small speaker, hidden under dirty looking grid on the phones body. Underneath its shabby look it somehow hid a high quality device, the timing and mention of visitors gender while there was no visible camera around making it even more obvious.
"Ah. Is it possible you are here for the job offer?" Resounded the young mans voice again giving Ice little time to answer the first question, traces of eagerness hearable in his welcoming tone.

Ice arched an eyebrow curiously when a voice spoke, which didn't sound to be coming from the part of the phone that it should be. Although that took the backseat of Ice's attention when she realized that he'd called her 'miss'. Which, naturally, implied that he could see her to know it was a woman. Ice glanced up first, and then turned her head to scan her surroundings; expecting to see someone had snuck up on her. Or was maybe peeking out a window of the building. As far as she could see, however, neither looked to be the case. Which made the wheels in her head start turning, quickly coming to the conclusion that there must be a camera somewhere.

Clearing her throat, Ice turned forward again, back towards the phone. "Uh, well, that depends," she said. The whole thing seemed weird to her, to say the least, so honestly she wasn't sure if he'd be able to help her or not. Although she was hoping he could because Ice wasn't really one for games. He went on to ask her if she was there about the job offer, which meant that he probably would be able to help her then. He also sounded rather eager too. Ice wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing yet. "Yeah, that would be about the only reason I'd be wandering around out here," she replied. Ice was a nice person, but she was pretty straight forward, and more than a little sarcastic. Her sarcasm just came naturally to her, though; usually leaking into her voice without her even realizing it. At least, unless someone pissed her off, in which case it was pretty sharp. "I saw the ad in the paper and decided to check it out. I'm guessing that this must be the right place, then. I was beginning to wonder," she said, giving a shrug of her shoulders. "Anyway, uh. . . where am I suppose to go for the interview?"

"Sorry about that. Come right in and follow the hallway, chief will await you there." The voice answers with his usual lightnes and the beaten looking door open up by its self.

From other side the door look strikingly different. Creamy white paint coating makes them feel softer in spite of the considerable weight and the device wich probably opened them looks bit overpowered for simple door opening. Behind the door is a decently sized atrium with walls painted in light peach color and paneling from cherry wood. The floor is paved with white tiles resembling marble. On one side of the atrium stands a rack for umbreallas, containing wide variety from cheap polythene ones to frilled parasol randomly put inside. Most probably each belonged to someone. Right across the entrance is a long hallway continuing deeper inside the building.

There stands a young man clad in washed out blue shirt and same colored jeans. It took a while to notice him, because almost everything about him seems ordinary link. Average height, build, face, uninteresting brown hair, but his stare is sharp and fully focused on the blonde examining her with expertise that could easily rival her own.
"Welcome. Follow me please." He says in a voice, that is more used to comanding, than asking while noding to greet the newcomer. Then without waiting he walks in the hallway to the right. The way he moves seems unrefined but lacks unnecesary moves that only the observat ones can see. Most likely there is even more hidden inside this boring package than one can see.

Stopping next to a pretty much normal door he opens them and wordlessly becons Ice to go inside. This room is large and high, probably to the second floor filled with different exercise equipment. Weights, treadmill ... a large boxing bag hanging in one of the corner even walls panelled with mirrors. And right across the room stands a coffe table with a leather sofa and chair.
Sitting and looking through some forms on the sofa is a young darkhaired woman in business suit link. As she notices the opened door she stands up and waits for the blonde to come closer to offer her a hand. Her look for a moment as examining as the mans seems to focus on wholly different qualities and dissapears in a proffesional smile.

"Welcome miss my name is Li Lang. I apologize for the reception, but the circumstances ..." She throws a scolding stare at the man who followed Ice in and stands next to the office lady at the moment. "...are rather against us and I had to improvise a bit. So if you are patient with us Im sure we can come to a mutualy beneficial agreement. Please take a seat." Her voice seems rough almost hoarse, that when she speaks more quietly it sometimes disappears into whisper.
"Though before we begin we have to get over one last inconvenience. I have to ask you to sign this confidentiality agreement." She places the form on the table for Ice to read.

Ice gave a light nod of her head when the voice on the other end of the phone said to follow the hallway and. . . chief will meet her there? She arched an eyebrow a bit curious who this chief person was, but shrugged her shoulders. Guess she'd find out soon enough. A sound caught her attention and she glanced up in time to see the door opening, so she hung the phone up and walked over towards it, pausing in the doorway to peek inside before actually walking in. To be honest, Ice wasn't exactly sure what she had expected to see on the other side of the door, but she supposed she'd been assuming that it would just be something that matched the dingy ally and beat up as the door had been. So, it was a bit of a surprise to her when she saw that the inside of the building was nicely decorated, and looked more like something you'd see in a fancy house or a penthouse apartment or something along those lines. It certainly didn't fit with the location, that much was for sure. Needless to say, that caught Ice's attention right away, and made her even more curious what was going on.

Ice walked farther inside, and followed the hallway a bit until a man came into view. Ice quickly gave him a once over, as she always did whenever she met someone. She always made mental notes of certain important things about them, and filed the information away for later. She'd learned a long time ago that sometimes the smallest detail could be helpful later on, so she tried to remember everything she possibly could about both other people, and her surroundings in general. From his appearance, there really wasn't anything unusual, or that stood out to her. Although something did tell her that he was rather alert, from the way that he was looking at her. Ice pretended like she hadn't noticed, though. Just like she acted liked she hadn't noticed the tone he'd used.

Ice was, as those that knew her were already well aware of, a very stubborn and independent person. She wasn't one to take orders, and would usually tell someone off if they so much as tried to boss her around. So, if the guy tried to be bossy towards her, chances were he'd get an ear-full. The only reason that Ice let it go at the moment, was because she needed the job. But that didn't mean that she'd just go along and ignore too much. At the moment, she decided to follow him down the hallway because she wanted to find out more about this supposed job. When Ice reached a room that appeared to be a gym of some sort, she looked around making a few mental notes on what was there. It was a nice gym, and more than three times the size of Ice's own. Her 'gym' consisted of a punching bag and an ancient treadmill. Ice had just scanned over the equipment in the room when she suddenly noticed that there was someone actually in the room, a dark haired woman that was sitting on the couch. Ice wasn't completely sure, but something told her that the woman was probably the one that had put the ad in the paper about the job. Naturally it could have been wrong, but just something about the way that the guy had led her there, and the woman seemed to carry herself, just struck Ice as being the owner of the place. So, Ice walked over towards the woman, shaking her hand when the woman offered it.

The woman went on to introduce herself as Li Lang, and apologized for the reception Ice had gotten. That part had been odd, even in Ice's line of work, it was a bit over the top from what she was used to. She arched an eyebrow when Li Lang went on to say that the 'circumstances were against them'. That only served to confuse Ice a bit farther, curious what exactly the woman meant by that. Although before Ice had a chance to say anything, Li Lang went on to say that she was sure that they could come to some sort of mutually beneficial agreement, and asked Ice to sign. . . a confidentiality agreement? That part was unexpected, although not something that she was completely unfamiliar with. Ice sat down, reaching over to slide the form over closer to read over. "I've only signed one of these once before on a job," Ice said, not looking up from the paper. She was always very careful to read everything thoroughly before signing it. "When I got a bodyguard job for an actress," she added, giving a shrug of her shoulder. The actress had been an up and comer, to to speak, and had been receiving threats when she began dating a popular male actor. So she'd hired Ice to keep the crazies away from her. Ice had thought she'd seen crazy, but Hollywood crazy had been a whole different story.

After she'd finished reading the paper, Ice signed it and slid it back across the table towards Li Lang. "My name's Boadicea Hart, by the way, but I prefer Ice," she introduced herself. "So, what exactly is this job about, anyway?" she added, arching an eyebrow and looking back towards the other woman curiously. Oh sure, Ice had a general idea from the ad, but the ad had been far too vague for her liking. Ice liked to know everything she could about a job so that she knew what she was getting herself into.

Lang rised one eyebrow amusedly when the blonde mentioned working for an actress, but sayed silent until she signed the formular. She briefly examined the sign before stashing it away and replacing with bundle of papers wich uppermost was labeled "Contract" letting Ice to read it through as she talks.
"In contrast to your earlier employment my domain is quasi-legal. Slavery, drugs and forgery art to be specific." She smiles lightly at Boadicea but her eyes examine the reaction the words elicit from the blonde. "It may sound harsh, but there are ways to profit from them legaly. As you naturaly understand now I have to deal with people on both sides of law and some of them dont believe in peacefull solutions. Therefore Im in need of personal bodyguard who will accompany me on bussines defend me if need arises." Lang leans back on the couch comfortably looking at the man, now standing next to her with blank expression on face.
"Eric, the chief of my security proposed that hiring a specialist is necesary for this task ...." Then she turns her gaze back to Ice. "...any questions so far?"

Ice reached over and pulled the contract that Lang had placed on the table closer so that she could start reading it. She was always careful to read things through before signing them, but she always appeared to just skim over them. She did glance up, however, when Lang began to explain about what it was that she needed Ice for. Which, as it turned out, was apparently because she needed a bodyguard due to her. . . unusual business. She arched an eyebrow but otherwise remained quiet until Lang had finished, explaining that Eric had suggested hiring a specialist for being her bodyguard, and asking if Ice had any questions. Ice blinked once, then chuckled. "Well, it's not that much in contrast to my last jobs. I worked in Hollywood; almost everything that goes on there is quasi-legal. Especially what my last employer was up to," Ice muttered a bit cryptically. She wasn't going to go into details over what had happened, but she just thought that she'd let Lang know that she wasn't exactly a stranger in that sort of thing. Plus there was also Ice's own past that had been involved in that sort of world before she'd ever started her current career.

She glanced towards the Eric guy for a moment, then back to the contract in front of her, as she considered what to say. Did she have any questions? A few. Did she want to ask them? She wasn't sure. Ice had learned a long time ago that it was best to not know too much, and not to get too comfortable with the employer. It was the best way for her to do her job, even if it sounded a bit odd to some. "The job sounds pretty self-explanatory. So I don't really have any questions about it; go with you on business trips and make sure that nothing happens. Pretty cut and dry, and what I'm used to doing. So I'm sure that I can handle that. And I'm use to dealing with people that don't believe in peaceful situations. That's what makes the job fun," she said dryly. "As far as what your actual business is. . . there's a few things that I might need to know in advance before a trip, so that I know what to expect. But other than that-" Ice shrugged. "-I suppose there's really not any questions right now." Ice paused, tilting her head a little. "Well, actually there is one; there was something in the ad about housing?" she asked, arching an eyebrow again. "Normally that part of a job wouldn't interest me. But I uh. . . recently found myself in need of a new place to stay," she said, giving another shrug of her shoulders. Finding yourself without a place to live or a job sucked mud. But it was also perfect timing when she had found the ad for this job.

A pleased smile appears on Lang's face as she hears, that Ice has already experience with the more shady side of business. "Interesting, I may give Hollywood a quick visit, it seems to be a city of opportunities." Says toughtfully.
"As to your question I indeed offer housing. The upper floors of this building are living quarters for my employees, if you are hired you will be given your own one-room apartment with standart equipment I provide. Kitchen is not included so if you want eat you will have to go use the dining room. As for rules. No weapons, drugs or interfering with work of other tenants and for the begining you will be prohibited to bring any visitors. If your services show satisfactory you will be given more privileges." Li answers rather dissinterestedly.

Then her bored demanor changes. "But before that I would like to see your skills. I hope you dont mind giving me a small demonstration ..." Before she can continue the door to the room fly open and two men enter the room talking about something. When they notice who is inside they stop and look at everyone present in suprise.
The first one is a burly man around 2 meters in height, looking like a common thug material with beady eyes and broken nose. The other is rather a head smaller and compare to his friend lean, but there areare well defined muscles to be seen on his arms if one would search a category he would be a debt collector for mafia.
"What are you two doing here?" Irritation is clearly hearable from the darkhaired woman's voice.
"Sorry boss, we didn't know you were here ..." Begins the first, but is quickly interrupted by his smaller friend. "Oooh. A new girl? Can we play with her a bit?"
Before anyone can protest he moves across the room and leans over the chairs back-rest to look Ice in the face. "And a cute one too? How about it? Wanna have some fun?" A sick smile spreads on his face eyes on the blondes bossom. The other dragged by his casual attitude stand by her other side eying her silently.
Erik watches them without even twitching, but his stare seems to get even colder.
"You two ..." Lang narrows her eyes angry at her subordinates. "Hart, deal with them!"

When Lang said that she might give Hollywood a visit since it sounded like a city of opportunities, Ice snorted. "That's one thing to call it," she said, then shrugged. "But yeah, it is. I actually know a few people that might interest you," she added. During Ice's time there, she had met more than a few unsavory characters, that just happened to be involved in the sort of business that Lang seemed to be in, plus some. Oddly enough, that hadn't had anything to do with the reason that Ice had left; she'd dealt with that without batting it an eye. No, it was much different circumstances that had led Ice to her current situation. Ice snapped out of her thoughts when Lang answered her question, saying that she did offer housing, and that the upper floors had living quarters for the employees. Ice nodded her head a little on that, as well as when Lang explained that, if hired, she would get a one room apartment with stranded equipment, minus kitchen. A one room apartment wasn't big, but Ice had lived in places that didn't even have that much during her younger years, and Ice didn't really plan on spending that much time in her room, anyway. She'd always been more of an 'outdoor person', and was never one to sit still for very long.

Besides that, with the way that Lang had described what Ice's job would be, it sounded like she wouldn't have a lot of free time, anyway. Which was fine with her, considering that Ice liked to stay busy. Hell, she could even be considered a workaholic at times, with the way that she threw herself into it. She didn't have much of a personal life anymore, nor had she had much of one at any point in her life. Which was the part about no visitors didn't matter one way or another, because she didn't have anyone that she'd want visiting her in the first place. Once again, Ice snapped out of her thoughts when Lang said that she would like to see a 'small demonstration'. Well, to be fair she probably should have seen that one coming. Before Ice had a chance to respond, the door burst open one and Ice's eyes flickered in that direction, automatically taking in the appearance of the two men. Both of them seemed to be the stereotypical type of person that Ice usually ended up getting into a fight with for one reason or another. Sure enough, one of them asked if they could 'play with her a bit' which instantly caused Ice to roll her eyes. What was it with guys? Ice was pretty sure that the majority of them only walked around with one thought on their brains. There were a few decent ones out there, but it was something along the lines of only 1 in 100 that was decent.

Ice had already planned on making them regret that little comment, but it turned out she'd get a chance to do sooner than she'd thought when Lang told her to deal with them. A small smile appeared on Ice's face. "Sure, sounds like fun," Ice commented. Then with that, Ice moved, almost a blur as she jumped off of the couch, and right towards the two men. While both of them would be a bit of a challenge to a less experienced fighter, neither of them would be a problem to Ice. She decided to go after the taller one first, when she reached him, he made a lunge for her but Ice instantly dropped down, just out of his reach and with a sweeping kick, swung her feet out and took his legs out from underneath him, making him go down face first onto the ground. Then she spun around towards the second guy, as he took a swing at her, Ice ducked out of the guy, grabbed his arm and with a quick turn, flipped him over, making him land on his back on the ground beside his friend. As the taller guy was getting up, Ice did a quick, roundhouse kick, her foot making contact with the side of his head and knocking him out cold. As for the second one, just as he was starting to sit up, Ice turned back towards him, doing one quick karate move to the back of his neck, hitting just the right spot that would have him out cold for the next hour. Sure enough, she hit the mark and his eyes rolled back in his eyes as he slumped to the ground.

All of this happened in less than two minutes. Dusting her hands off, and rolling her head to the side a bit, she turned back towards Lang and Erik. "Anything else you'd like me to take care of?" she asked as if this was perfectly normal for her. Which, actually, it was.
