Plot: Sagewind College is an academy for the magic arts and studies of spells for years now. It has a common tradition that students of a high prestige and titles are allowed to choose a fellow classmate and take them in as their apprentice. Guinevere Violetta is a first-year known for bringing nothing but bad luck to those around her leaving her to be singled-out and bullied by her peers. But what happens when a Prefect of one of the highest-tiered dorms, and her idol, suddenly asks her to become her apprentice? How will Gwyn take this sudden twist of good luck.
Name: Guinevere "Gwyn" Violetta Age:18 Birthday:September 15 Zodiac: Virgo Height:5'10 Personality: Despite how refined Sagewind demands their students to be, Gwyn is a complete goofball and a bit naive. She isn't the type to hide her emotion and has an amusing set of expressions that come with her. She would do anything to see her peers just as happy as her even though they bully her. She is a caring and optimistic girl that leads her father to believe was passed on from her deceased mother. As clumsy as she is, it is apparent by her professors and advisors that she has hidden potential in being an outstanding person. Deep down under all that optimism is a girl who is easily distraught by the feeling of loneliness and only wishes that somebody would be her friend despite her bad luck. Likes: Company, Performers of any sorts, Dark chocolates, Coffee, Magic, Astrology, Divination, Potions, and the Prefect. Dislikes: Abuse of Magic, Hexes, Curses, Jinxes, Bullying, Failure, Dogs, Crowds Background:A long time ago, a Gypsy cast a spell on a group of circus performers which Gwyn's great-great-great-grandfather once belonged to which was passed on down to the future generations. It was believed that it was the curses doing that left her mother bed-ridden after she was born before eventually taking her life and leaving her dad to raise her on his own.
She spent most of her childhood at the circus watching her father perform in front of audiences as an acrobat who wanted her to follow his path, but where most of her talent came from was a gift from her mother; magic! At the age of thirteen, she discovered how to create illusions and charms that lasted for duration of time deemed extraordinary by sorcerers and wizards. But the curse of the gypsy had tampered with her magic causing harm to anyone around her whenever she used too much magic at one time. It wasn't until after an incident involving a member of the circus audience getting attacked by one of her spells, was she considered to be nothing but a monster.
It wasn't soon before Sagewind had their eyes set on bringing Guinevere into the College when she was old enough so that she could learn how to control such a dangerous magic. During a last minute orientation at Sagewind, Gwyn managed to get separated from the rest of the group. While wondering about, she managed to catch sight of a beautiful girl crying by herself. Without a second thought, she made her way over to woman and attempted to cheer her up through tamed displays of her magic before getting the woman to smile. Before they could even say hello to one another or get each others name, she was reunited with her group and forced to leave. Little did Gwyn know back then that that was the Prefect she would come to admire she had managed to cheer up.
It wasn't until her first week into Sagewind that she found out that the young lady she had entertained was none other than a dormitory leader running one of several houses in the College. Gwyn could only hope that she would be placed in the same house that her acquaintance lead, but to little surprise, her bad luck had her bouncing between three houses as she was deemed useless by them. Now she could only dream of having a chat with the girl who found amusement out of her magic.

Name: Liliana "Lili-hime" Starfield Age: 22 Birthday: February 7th Zodiac: Aquarius Height: 5'4" Powers: Liliana is very well-rounded and can effectively use all the different forms of magic, but she is best with defensive and healing magic. She also has a special ability only passed down to the Starfields: she can draw ancient symbols on her skin to increase the effects of her magic temporarily. This makes her very effective in battle and training. Personality: Liliana is a very smart, quiet, noble, and shy type person. She is a very prestigious student, so she has a sort of respectable air about her, and she has the type of innocent gaze that somehow makes everyone else confess all of their wrongs without her saying a word. Most people classify her as a an angel and she has a pure aura. She has a calming effect on most people, though few people know whether that is just her natural presence or her using her magic to make everyone else a little calmer. She almost always has a distant look in her eyes and she is well known for her daydreaming. She prefers to be alone most of the time and isolates herself from others. Even through that, though, she still manages to lead the student body in a rather remarkable way that makes the students call her princess. She mostly seems kind of Dandere, barely ever speaking and seeming emotionless, but when in a small group or with someone she can trust she opens up just that little bit to show a bit of her sweet side. Likes: Reading, Writing, Nature, Cats, Food, the Sky, Daydreaming, Music, Singing Dislikes: Art, Cooking, Speaking in front of others, Being lost, Small spaces, Being a disappointment, Dancing Background: Liliana is from the very successful Starfield family, which is a prestigious, successful family of magic users. They have practically ruled over Sagewind for as long as most people can remember and have high spots on the school council as well. They are like the representative democracy that always gets put back into place because of the love and respect they get from the people. Liliana grew up being taught to be the perfect role-model, the perfect princess, without her own consent. Since she is the only heir to the Starfield line, and her mother can no longer have children, the responsibility of ruling over Sagewind belongs to her. Though, quite honestly, Lili truly just wants to follow the wind wherever it takes her. When her mother was impregnated with her she was actually supposed to have twins, but Liliana's powers were so strong that she sucked up her twin brother's existence entirely, causing herself to be stronger, but losing a baby brother in the process. She blames herself to this day and so does her father who never got to have the male prodigy he always wanted to have. Her mother unexpectedly died right before she left for college, leaving a hole of emptiness in Liliana. Without her mother, Lili had no one left who truly cared for her, and she hardened her heart, diving into books full of the fantasy and love she craved from real life. She thought she had become completely emotionless, but in one of her lessons with her father she accidentally tripped and he began to scream at her, calling her "useless", "failure", and saying the worst of all: "it should've been you! You should've been the one to die!" She couldn't take his words any more and retreated as far as she could into the woods. She was normally so calm, but she could not stop the tears from running down her cheeks. She tried to wipe them away, but it was no use. Then, out of the clearing, a girl in braids emerged. Liliana turned to look away. No one was supposed to see her cry! But, the girl didn't seem to mind, and, in fact, was doing everything she could to make the girl feel better. She was even using her powers in the most simplistic, but crafty ways to put a smile on Liliana's face. Normally, Lili would've ignored the girl, but something about her generosity in this precise moment, and her goofiness, made Liliana smile. She thanked the girl but soon had to return home. She never saw the girl again, or even knew her name, but every time she was yelled at or bullied by her father she retreated to that place in the woods with the girl, and she found herself smiling at his insults. Liliana had become the highest class of magician: a Perfect. And she soon would have to take on an apprentice in her fourth year. In practice, also, her father had put her in charge of one of the dorms on campus. She took the responsibility quietly, deciding it was best not to make a fuss. Though, all the while, she thought about who she would pick as her apprentice. She hoped she could find that girl again. The one she could teach best would be the first person other than her mother who had seen her smile. She would wait patiently until she met her again.

♍ Gwyn Violetta ♍ It had been a nice day in Sagewood as their was a nice breeze that ran throughout the old architect of the castle that inhabited many young wizards. Despite it being out in the midst of the woods and mountains, very much separated from the rest of civilization, many young students coursed in and out of the building. Whether it be in classes, out on the quads, or just residing in their rooms students and professors were learning how to manipulate magic for the greater good. Of course, there was one young woman who was having the hardest of time trying to fit in at Sagewind.
Crossing over the bridge from the hex tower into the main building was the newest transfer, Guinevere Violetta, finishing up her last lecture and lab on the art of hex. Of course like usual, everything blew up in her face as she she etched in the wrong ruin sending her papers everywhere and smoke through the classroom. Her professor had to cancel out the spell while she stood there getting leered down by her classmates and even her lab partner for messing up the most basic of hexes. "Why does she need to learn hexes when she's clearly one anyways. She's nothing but an omen!" She remembered hearing one of the boys murmur in class which followed with several chuckles. After class, she spent another half an hour learning from the professor of each ruin that went into the failed hex. Luckily, the professor understood that she was still getting used to the the traditional way of magic and not her unorthodox style of hand casting. He seemed amused to find out she had merely just finger-painted instead of using the etching pen. They both had a good laugh, but her's was more of a nervous laugh upon realizing how childish that must have seemed.
"Oh Dad. . .this is much harder than I imagined." She said to herself as pinched the skin between her forehead and put her head down in shame. A month into classes and she was still looking foolish when it came to this kind of magic that was fundamental to everyone else. She looked over the railing of the bridge and out at the view that the castle had to offer. A few miles northwest of the castle laid the coastline and a nice view of the sun looking to disappear under the horizon as if it were submerging itself under the sea for the night. "Well at least classes are done for the day, I even have this nice view to wrap up with." Gwyn said to herself trying to look at the bright side of things. She leaned over the rail and felt the breeze pushing back her violet braids. Now if only she had a friend here who could enjoy these kind of peaceful moments with her.
Since no one was around, she didn't understand why she couldn't muster up a friend of her own. After channeling a smoky ball of magic in her hand, she gave a flick of her fingers to summon a wispy violet cat that floated adrift in the air for a second before perching itself beside Gwyn on the guardrail of the bridge. "Hi there. . ." She told the animated critter as it brushed up against her black school jacket like that of a real feline. At least she could create her own friends, even though it left a pinging sensation in her heart since she wanted a real one. The circus wasn't here to cheer her up like usual when she felt so lonely, so who would do it for them while she was away?

✧ Liliana Starfield ✧
The day was beautiful, but the dorms were an absolute disaster. There were papers and wrappers lining the halls, dust on every bench and windowsill, and people would just toss things into the floor without a second thought. And that was just the outside. Liliana could only imagine what it was like on the inside of the student's rooms. What kind of person was in charge before her that let the dorms get this bad? Something had to be done about this, and it had to happen today before everyone went to bed that evening, or else her father would blame her for failing on evening inspection, and that meant another lesson (and beating). She could feel her body tense at the thought, giving her a drive to get it done before nightfall.
On her first day as the dorm leader, Liliana had to gather every member of the student council to pick up the mess. They dusted every single shelf, bench, windowsill, and light fixture, and had to clean up wrappers, sweep floors, and rearrange everything back to its original place. They even mopped to make the hallways look extra clean for the inspector. No one dared to make a mistake around Mr. Starfield. He had even more of a powerful image than the headmaster. So they worked twice as hard as they thought they could, getting a two day job done in a 12-hour sitting.
There was so much clutter that it took until the end of the school day to clean out, and Liliana was completely exhausted. Normally, she would've used magic to make herself and the student council members faster, or make the objects do the work by themselves while she worked, but magic was not allowed to be used outside of the assigned classrooms and without teacher or faculty supervision. So, as a good princess, she followed the rules and now she was more tired than ever. She felt as if she might have worked much too hard for her fragile bones, but she would not look weak in front of others when she walked home that night.
She was too tired to care much about the atmosphere, even though it was a beautiful sight to see the flowers glisten and the leaves rustle under the sunset of the bridge. She would normally stop to observe and calm down after a hard day, but her body was screaming at her to get back to bed. Everything would be all right as long as she could take a little rest before her father arrived that evening. She let out a low sigh, raising her shoulders and taking quick strides forward.
The Starfield girl was completely unaware of her physical appearance. She had worn an apron while she cleaned so that her uniform would not get dirty, but she still had a few speckles of dirt on her white leggings from having to sit on them to clean the floors. Her hair was damp with sweat and plastered to her forehead and the sides of her face. She had a smudge of dirt on her right cheek, just below her sea green eyes. Though, she didn't notice any of that as she walked home. She reached the bridge, and she was about to scold the sole occupant for her use of magic outside of the classroom, but her eyes went wide as she recognized the girl from the forest clearing. "It's you..."

✧ Liliana Starfield ✧
At her statement, which she didn't realize was accusing, the other girl looked extremely baffled and about ready to list off about a thousand reasons why she was not to blame for what she did. Though, Liliana wasn't really about to scold her for using a little bit of magic to keep herself company. After all, Liliana did it sometimes herself, and she was too tired to really care about such things. It wasn't as if it was her job to punish, anyways. If the student did something against the school then it was between the school and the student, and no one else really had the right to interfere. Plus, this might be the first person she ever felt like she could be friends with. So, she wouldn't say anything on the matter.
When the other had calmed down enough to realize what the accusation truly meant she smiled and dashed over to Liliana as if what she was doing before was completely irrelevant now that the green-eyed girl was there. Liliana somehow felt special, but she would not let it show much. She slightly inclined her head in answer to the other's recognition. "How do you do?" She would ask politely, lacing her hands together in front of her. She stood straight then and studied the other girl for a few moments. Again, the student was smiling, goofy, and in braids. What would she look like out of those braids? Would her hair flow like a river down her back? Liliana could only think how she would look good either way, but now was not the time to think about that.
Before Liliana could make a comment on the other girl's frantic display to her apparent 'messy' appearance, the student had already tucked some of her locks back behind her ear and had used a handkerchief from the east dorms to wipe away an apparent smudge on her face that she hadn't notice. She looked down at her knees to see the dirt splotches and then at her face to realize that her hair was, indeed, a bit messy. She combed her fingers through it silently, trying to straighten her appearance as best as she could. This was so unprofessional! She cleared her throat before replying. "I do apologize for my poor appearance." She bowed her head again and stood up straight again, trying to look a bit older. "I am a fourth year student here, and I am not lost." She said, blinking at the other's statements. Just how old did the other think she was, anyway?! She did agree, though, that she could not let her father see her like this. She needed to go change as soon as she got back to her dorm room.
Liliana was silent again until spoken to. Actually, this is the most she's probably talked to a person in quite a long time. The other seemed to draw the words out of her without even trying. "You do not have to apologize." She was actually very grateful that the other was trying to help her. Most would've started rumors about her untidy appearance or told her father, getting her another scolding. Liliana thought that her father was a very kind, accepting kind of man, but she was astonished to see that her mask had not worked. The other could see how tired she really was? She bowed her head again as if to apologize again for her inability to put up a good enough barrier to conceal her exhaustion. She really must look like a wreck, and she hoped the other didn't mind. Before she could clear her thoughts, the other had extended her hand in Liliana's direction, introducing herself without a second thought. The Starfield child gently took the hand in her own. "Liliana Starfield."

✧ Liliana Starfield ✧
Liliana watched as she saw the other again flip out over something so trivial. Obviously, it wasn't a big deal to the senior girl, who stood staring at Gwyn with a blank look, but the other continued to rant until she made the both of them blush at her side comment. Liliana had been called such things as beautiful or pretty, but to hear it used to bluntly and not as if she was an alien creature made her feel a little bit happier inside. The other girl did not treat her as if she was someone out of reach, but a real person who was right in front of her. "You do talk to much." Liliana said, a bit jokingly, as she looked up at the sunset with a very faint smile. It hopefully proved to the other that the Starfield child was, indeed, not upset with her at all.
Many students had a hard time adjusting to the school, so I guess this girl was just one of them. She couldn't blame her. There were so many people here with high authority and power that it was hard to address them without feeling as though you crossed a line somewhere. Liliana had grown up learning every single rule of the school, so she was used to it by the time she was a freshman, and she wondered if she could teach Gwyn the ways of the school in a more positive way than her father taught her. She had never been a teacher before, so it might be a good experience for her. And, as a fourth year, she had a duty to pick an apprentice before she graduated, and she did have her mind set on the girl who made her smile. But... how to ask? Maybe she should take it slow before making such a request. She felt it might be a little too forward to ask upfront when they barely knew each other. "Perhaps I could assist you with your studies?" She suggested, trying to be helpful.

✧ Liliana Starfield ✧
She rushed back as quickly as she could, making sure to go just slow enough to look as if she was perfectly on time. Someone of her standards should never look as if they are tardy, even if they are. They have a presence to upkeep, and she could not let that presence go in fear of someone telling her father and getting another scolding. After a few minutes she finally made it back to her room. She quickly fixed her hair, brushing out all of the tangles. She took a wash cloth and dabbed down her face with it, cleaning off all of the smudges. She looked down at her knees and decided it was best to just change leggings and shoes for now, and have them washed later so that she would not be late for her father.
Liliana just barely made it to the front desk when her father opened the door and entered. The Starfield child stood as tall as she can, trying to look as regal as she possibly could. She then bowed her head and laced her fingers together in front of her in the most lady-like way. "Welcome, father." He grunted in response. "Stand up straight, girl, and follow me." He ordered as he began to walk down the halls. He would inspect the hallways for today, but he promised to give another day on the rooms as the new students just got here yesterday. Though, he wasn't very good at keeping promises. Liliana tried to sound as composed as she could, though this whole ordeal made her extremely nervous. What if she had missed something cleaning and he found it? He would most definitely scold her! She made sure to follow a step behind his stride. No one dared to walk in front of or on the same wavelength as Mr. Starfield. Not even his daughter.
The inspection process took about an hour and it took everything within Liliana to stay awake. Her father wouldn't even talk to her the whole time, but better for him to not talk than to be yelling at her. She stayed perfectly quiet until the process ended and he told her that everything seemed fine, for now. As soon as he slammed the doors closed to the dorm house, Liliana let out a sigh of relief. She trudged her way as princess-like as she could up the stairs and collapsed onto her bed without a second thought.
***********************************************
She awoke an hour before her scheduled study session. She had to make sure that her clothes and her hair were in proper place for the day ahead. She made sure to eat a small breakfast of porridge before she put her dirty clothes into a bag that she would later drop off to get clean. She casually made her way to the bridge, checking her watch as she went. She ended up just being a minute early, and Gwyn was already there, looking into the sun. How long had the girl been waiting? Apparently, she was earnest, and Liliana would not complain about that. She liked that in a person. Liliana stood at attention and bowed her head as soon as she stepped foot on the bridge. "Good morning."
