Skylar looked at him before removing his hand from his arm and leaning away from Haruki. "Yes. But I never use my abilities in that way...I decided a long time ago not to. If I want to be with someone, I am going to win his heart the old-fashioned way." he replied, not looking over at the other male. He had seen the look in Haruki's eyes but he didn't know if it was acceptance or rejection. Knowing his luck, it was probably rejection.

He no longer felt the grasp on his arm and he could tell by the look on Skylar's face that he felt afraid, totally dejected, knowing that fate was cruel of him just of defying his heritage. Though he admitted that the man deserved credit for going with the old-fashioned way of courtship than to use his powers, it wouldn't be easy using that method. Now he wanted to hold his hand, to assure him that everything will be okay, but he couldn't do that, not when the bartender would possibly be mistaken as one of those people because of those advances. So instead, he settled with a smile. "But indeed, you are such a fine man even with that demonic heritage of yours. That won't stop us from becoming friends." The next step would wait. Yes, definitely.

Skylar turned to look at him. "Do you really mean that?" he replied quietly, hoping that he did as he didn't think that he could handle it if Haruki didn't mean it. He he been lied to once before and he vowed to himself to never let it happen again. "I would like to continue being friends with you. Are you okay with that?" he added, his blue eyes shining with hope.

Skylar was indeed truly hoping that what he said was totally correct. Haruki wasn't the one to lie, keeping his word, so his reply to the question was ringing with clarity as he smiled back at him. "I would never abandon my friends, and you are included in the list. I'm serious." Finally, the vehicle moved with the traffic loosening up as if on cue and the bartender suggested something else to kill time. "Time for you to see my apartment once the cab stops there."

Skylar returned the smile. It was a real one this time. "Thank you. That means a lot." he replied, blushing lightly when he heard Haruki called him a friend. He blinked at the change of subject before nodding. "I would love to see where you live." he added with another heart-beating smile. He was happy that Haruki had accepted him which was a load off his chest.

At the sight of the blush, Haruki admitted that the demon was cute, but no, he had to resist himself from blurting that out or the other male would become a flustered mess. It didn't even help that the smile was dazzling either because the incubus was child-like with that expression. He cleared his throat, having to compose himself. "Anyway, we are almost there to my apartment. Just expect the space to be smaller than yours." That slight change of topic may help later on once they reached Haruki's adobe.

Skylar stared at him for a moment before nodding and sitting back in his seat but not before making sure that he had his mother's present as he didn't want to lose it. He inwardly sighed in relief when he found it safe and sound. He turned to look at Haruki. "I'm sure it's lovely." he replied with another smile. In truth, he was curious to see what the other's place was like and couldn't wait to see.

It wasn't long before the two finally arrived at the entrance to Haruki's apartment. The bartender was the one who paid for the cab before the two exited the vehicle. He fetched his keys from the bag as he approached the main entrance, slotting the thing into the keyhole before giving it a turn. With that, the door was unlocked and Haruki escorted the demon to his living room, locking the door behind them and taking off his shoes. "Welcome to my apartment." His introduction was brief as he took off his coat next and hung it on the rack near the door.

Skylar waited patiently s Haruki opened the door to his apartment. Once inside, he looked around and found it cozy. He liked tenderly of it. "You he a very nice apartment, Haruki." he said, placing his bags down while making a mental note not to forget them when he left. He had only been in another apartment when his friend had set him up on a blind date a year ago. That had been a total disaster as the man had been after one thing only. He had never gone another date after that. He didn't't want to think about it, so he shoved to the back of his mind and focused on Haruki.

The bartender was adjusting the coat when he heard the compliment from Skylar. "Not a palace, but it's where my heart is. Thanks, anyway." He then placed his bag on the living room table and stashed the keys into the pot that held a small fake plant. "Want some drinks? I have some soda. May work on some snacks as well for keep ourselves entertained. You can go ahead and watch TV. Remote's on the table." Those were his last words before he departed to the kitchen.

Skylar smiled at him before removing his own coat and placing it on the rack as well. "Soda is fine. Snacks would be nice even if you don't have to." he replied with a laugh as he took a seat on the couch. "I think I'd rather wait until you return." he mused, looking over at Haruki with another smile before watching him disappear into the kitchen before settling back and closing his eyes and just reveling in the warmth that was the other's apartment.

He heard Skylar's response not far from his earshot as he was about to prepare something easy for the two. Thanks to the grocery shopping, he had enough ingredients for that snack. Right now, he was in the mood for the single serving microwave chocolate chip cookies, and with the incubus around, he hoped that the other would enjoy that as well. He was doing some work for two ramekins for the cookies, buttering the surface as preparation before mixing in the dry and wet ingredients. Haruki was humming a tune as he was busy with the mixture.

Skylar turned to look at Haruki when he started humming and couldn't help but smile before turning back around and settling himself once again on the couch. He could smell the chocolate chip cookies which made him glad as he loved anything with chocolate in it. As he waited for the other, he couldn't help but think that he was lucky to have met the bartender as any one else would try to seduce him, not that they would have had much luck, but still it was nice to just talk to someone without having to be on guard around them.

Haruki was now pouring the batter into the ramekins, making sure that they were just half-way full, before popping them into the microwave and activating the timer to let them bake. While waiting, he fetched two cans of sodas from the fridge and walked back towards the living room, handing one to Skylar. "Saw that you decided to relax than to watch something interesting," he spoke as he sat down on the sofa next to him. "Want to me to switch channels to your favorite TV show genres? The cookies may take some seconds to bake." He then picked up his remote, ready just in case the incubus allowed him to.

Skylar thanked him before taking the soda. "Hmm? Yeah. I figured that since it's your tv, that you get to choose what to watch. I'm into anything really. Especially crime dramas." he replied with a smile as he popped opened his soda. To be honest, he doesn't get a lot of time watching tv as his job keeps hi, busy most days of the week. but when he did get some down time, he used it to watch his crime dramas. Why he liked them so much, even he didn't know.
