My Demonic Savior

For DWN-063 and Luvable Heartless!

It had always been like this. Ayase's father used to works in the demonic trades industry, selling shark teeth, human clothing, and most of the time just useless baubles to demons that didn't know the correct worth of human items.

As you can see, his father could've been a criminal.

But one day, a demon showed up to buy something that didn't know correct worth just yet; but was smart enough to check. His father sold him a useless trinket for a ridiculous price, outraged; the demon came back, planning to kill the thief. His father offered his only son as compensation. Wrong decision, because Ayase; while being taken to his new 'home', jumps out of the transportation device and begins falling to the ground from miles up.

He was saved by another demon before he hit the ground; and tells the helpful demon the story of what all that happened, and asked if he would help protect him for a while. But how long will the demon stay?

Ayase sat uncomfortably in his seat. That could easily be told as he looked off the edge of the transortation device; they could be miles up. The ground was far down, making him edgy. He took a glance at the demon that wasn't sitting too far from him. He looked mad,

...

Ayase could understand though. His father was quite the con-man, it was only a matter of time before he got caught. It was a cat demon; and was just about hissing, his multi-colored eyes glaring forward; curses mumbled under it's breath. And then he saw his claws, they were sharp. Too sharp, curled into fists. And the cat's gaze turned to him with a dark scowl.

Oh, he wasn't liking that.

Ayase realized no there was no way he was staying. Pushing himself up, he hopped right off the ledge. And here he was now, falling head first, his gaze wide and locked on the ground that seemed to rush at him; the cat demon looking over with an almost amused look. And he felt the rush, the slips of adrenaline; his gaze blank and wide. Three words rushing through his mind as he began to panic.

'I'm so dead!'

"Hah! Too slow!" echoed the annoying voice through Cyncaid's ears as one of his shadows barely missed the other demon's leg. It's shadowy form slithering back into the ground as Cyncaid ran past it hot on the demon's trail. Concentrating harder he shot out five more shadows from him. The dark beings taking shape of snakes as they followed their masters orders and chase after the jester of a demon Cyncaid had been trying to catch for a while now.
The other demon quickly leaped into the air extending his free hand in front two of the snakes causing them to burst into dust as they hit an invisible shield.
Cyncaid cursed beneath his crimson scarf glaring at the demon as he saw his shadows disappear and the other take off again laughing, but none the matter, his sharp eyes stayed locked on the item the other was carrying. A necklace holding a shinning red crystal. His red crystal.
Extending his hand and focusing on the demon running in front of him he concentrated trying to time his steps perfectly to snatch him with more of his shadows. Though that idea flew out the window as he caught the scent of a human causing him to miss his target, the sharp shadow that shot up from beneath the ground only grazing the demon's leg. This scent wouldn't have affected him so much if it wasn't for the fact that it was coming from straight above him. Skidding to a stop he gazed up, trying to find out where exactly this scent was coming from since, last time he checked, humans couldn't fly. Catching a glimpse of a small dot slowly growing bigger he could make out that it was something, someone, falling to their death. Looking back at the demon who was quite aways now, he new it'd be hard to catch up to him. Growling he focused on the matters at hand now. Which was to save this being from turning itself to squash. Locking his gold eyes onto the being, the shadows shot out from beneath his feet and wrapped themselves around it's master, engulfing him in a dark blanket and vanishing back into the ground.
Moments later he had appeared in a puff of black smoke near the being, falling head first just like him. The smell made it clear that this was a human.
With no emotion upon his face his piercing gold eyes scanned the humans body, seeing that it roughly was still a kid. Then without a word he grabbed the kid's wrist and pulled him to him, holding him there as he concentrated on a spot on the ground, his shadows once again wrapping themselves around him and the human, shrinking around them, then suddenly disappear from midair; and like before, within moments, appeared again on the ground with a poof. Cyncaid on his feet, while the other flat on his back in front of him.

Luvable Heartless

Ayase's eyes were tightly shut, the blonde could feel the air race around him as he fell, his hair whipping his face. There was simply acceptance as he went, his father had traded him to save his own skin.

He had never known his mother, and didn't even known if he had siblings. What was left? 'A lot.' Ayase's conscious mentally kicked him for thinking such things, his eyes opening as he thought this; he stared at the ground as it seemed to grow closer. Ayase silently hoped it wasn't painful when he reached the ground, or maybe a miracle where he would land without a broken bone. Was that too much to hope for?

Breathing evenly, almost calmly; he pet his eyes shut again. What was that feeling? The blonde curled up suddenly, a frown reaching his face at the feel of something encasing his torso. And then, nothing. Confused, he loosened up once again, surprised to feel the ground...wait. Ground?!

Ayase jolted back to conciousness, his eyes shooting open. Shuffling a bit where he was laying down, he brought his hands up to his face, bending his arms and legs carefully; checking for any wounds. None. He stared, dumbstruck up at the sky, until he finally noticed the other person watching him. Tilting his head to the side slightly, he sat up; unready to stand just yet as he looked at the person next to him with wide eyes. "T...thanks."

Cyncaid watched as the boy struggled with the fact that he was still alive. The question remaining on his mind about how this human ended up in that predicament in the first place. Though it's not like he cared that much about it as he averted his gaze towards where the other demon had escaped from him due to this little distraction. It'll take him quite some time to locate that b*****d again considering he was constantly on the move and liked to play games with Cyncaid.
Hearing a 'thanks' in his ear he simply glanced back at the kid one more time before turning and starting to walk off in the direction the other had left, having done his good deed for the day. Psh, maybe the year. What demon saves a human anyway?

Luvable Heartless

Ayase stared at the demon's back as he walked away, seemingly dumbstruck once again; his facial expression odd and confused. The blonde sat up, dusting off his shirt and the rest of his clothing before he shakily stood, using the tree that lingered nearby as a crutch for a moment. He took a few steps, slow and calm; until he was positively sure he was able to move without tripping.

And he was off.

Running after the demon that was now a good distance away due to Ayase's stalling and wariness of standing. He caught up after a moment, speed being one of his few fortes that he had began to excel in while living alongside his father.

The human breathed unevenly for a moment as he slowed to a quick walk to keep up with the other, it's not like he knew where he was, and the stranger would be hus best shot at maybe finding his way home or at least getting a fresh start. "I'm Ayase, nice to meet you...?" He started, glancing from the side of his eye to the other; hoping to strike up a conversation with the other.

Cyncaid kept his normal pace, even when he could sense the kid slowly catching up to him before finally he was walking right next to him. Strange human. Keeping his gaze straight ahead and his pace up, he could hardly care that the human was following him. If anything it just confused him. Humans tend to stay away from demons like him, and yet this one was following him like a lost puppy.
"What do you want?" he spoke up for his answer. His voice deep and cold through his scarf, yet it didn't hold any hint of annoyance. "You should be on your way home. These parts aren't safe for humans like you." Even if humans and demons lived amongst each other, it didn't mean most of them got along. There were still parts and places where territories wouldn't allow each others kind to roam freely. The deserted area they were in was one of them. And sadly for the kid, this one was run by demons. Any human caught here alive would be killed, eaten, or used for other things that would benefit them.
