Streets were empty in the dark of the night, only neon signs lighting up the snow slicked roads. Maybe once every hour or so, some poor cold soul would run, huffing white breaths of excitement as they went into one of the warm bars that lined the streets, all packed with people trying to keep from the cold themselves. It was maybe about 10 or 11 when Lavrenti strolled into one of the less crowded bars, his tall lean body tucked into a warm wool sweater and a black scarf, nose and cheeks pink from the biting weather.
He sighed and sat down at an empty stool and order a glass of scotch, placing a bill on the table in exchange for the liquid warmth. Lati ran a hand through his long gold hair and took a drink from his class cup, the braclets on his arm faintly tinkering as they slid from under his sleeve. He searched the room with his eyes, vaguely checking off anyone who looked like they would be fun to take home that night.
