It had been about a week now since the death of Beta's Mentor, Alpha, in Chicago. But to Jordan, it's as if she could still feel the blood of her best friend running down her hands and soaking her lap. A couple of hours before, they were arguing about early retirement and then the next second she's gone just like that. All these thoughts weren't making the drive over to Alpha's house any less nerve wracking. "Damn, it's not even happy hour yet. Guess I'm going into this sober." She thought as she looked at her dashboard that read 1:04 in white luminescent characters. She looked over in the black leather passenger seats at the files she received earlier with a sticky note on the top that had a name on it.
Alexis, it was a name forced into her head so much that it gave her a chuckle when she could hear Alpha's voice in her head echoing it. Even when she was dying she was talking about her, begging Jordan that all she would ask of her was to watch over her daughter the way she always wished she could have before passing on. "Damn shame the two of them couldn't even see each other one last time. Poor girl gets a call over the phone saying that her mother was dead and is just expected to get over it." She said before pulling in at the driveway of the Hoskins family.
They had a laneway house that was second to the top of a hill next to a four way stop of the road they lived on: Zaharias Boulevard, and Donovan Way; the road that lead you into the city. Beta stepped out of her Black Audi R8 as she pulled out her black adidas dufflebag and sword on the passenger side floor. "32 Zaharias Boulevard. . . " She murmured as she picked up the files and shut the door, clicking the lock button on her car keys before making her way to the front door. She looked at her key ring, shifting to the only other key on it, unlocking the door and walking in.
"Still the same as before." She said as she stood in the hardwood foyer that was immediately next to the white carpet living room. The layout of the house simple: three floors. First floor consisted of living room, a kitchen with a white island counter top, and a slide door to the deck outside. Upstairs was the master bedroom with a bathroom and balcony, a bedroom, one room she'd never been in, and a bathroom at the end of the catwalk. Downstairs was the basement that was transformed into a bar and also a little gym area for Alpha. There was the fenced-in backyard out back with one half that had grass and firepit, while the other side was the pool area. "Oh yeah. . .I could get used to this." Jordan said to herself as she dropped her stuff in front of the doorway and walked around.
Nobody had greeted and the door was locked, which meant that Lexi was still at her Aunt's house for the week. "She should be dropped back off today." She remembered talking to her aunt over the phone, which eventually turned into a heated discussion. Alpha's sister never liked her for the illegal crimes Jordan and Alpha occasionally did. The only thing she ever promised to Alpha is that she would never tell Lexi about their underground life, but she didn't keep that promise to Jordan. She apparently goes out of her way to make Beta look like nothing but a criminal, which always urked the girl.
With the house to herself, she was quick to raid the refrigerator and grab up some leftover pizza she found on the top shelf and poured herself a glass of water. She got a fork and made her way to the couch before turning on the TV to MTVjamz with the stereo at it's loudest. Her boots were kicked up on the glass table before giving a chuckle and biting into a Hawaiian style pizza while listening to the Arctic Monkeys . "Oh man Alpha. . .you sure did live the good life." She muffled as she swallowed on the leftovers.

Name: Alexis Hoskins Goes by: Lex Age: Eighteen Gender: Female Personality: Alex is quite arrogant and defensive, probably takes it from her mother. She has a short temper, but she knows how to control it. She can get sarcastic when she's upset or annoyed. Going to her bright side; she's trustworthy and independent. She's very optimistic, energetic and likes to have fun, but can be serious if the situation calls for it. Likes: Early mornings, coffee, technology, dogs, reading, nature. Dislikes: Talking about personal stuff, big crowds, her father, alcohol. Bio: Alexis' parents separated when she was two years old. She mostly lived with her father but got to see her mother once a month. That carried on until she turned six, which was when her parents actually filed the divorce papers. From that day on, she lived with her mother with no contact with her father. Her mother thought it would be best for her, because her father was quite a bad influence. And since her father didn't seem to fight for Alexis, it went well. Lex grew up like a normal teenager. She had her rebellious stage quite early, but soon grew out of it. She rarely got to see her mother, so she basically started causing trouble at school to get her mother's attention. When her mother passed away in an accident, Alexis was devastated to say the least. She had become a bit distant and lost her bright attitude. Dominant/submissive: Can and will be both Looks Like: Lexi

It has been exactly eight days. Eight very long days, since her mother had passed away. And it is still as hard to swallow this little piece of information now, as it was eight days ago. She was here a few days, smiling and laughing, joking around and complaining about Alex's room which was a complete. It seems like yesterday, she's ask Alex what she wanted for dinner and they'd cook together and make the kitchen a paintball playground. She can't be gone, now. It was so sudden and unexpected. There are so many things that she still haven't seen. There are so many things that Alex wanted to say. There are so many things that she wished to do with her. But it was too late now.
Taking in a deep breath, Alexis had to keep reminding herself that she shouldn't break down right now. Walking down the stairs, Alexis felt like her body was just being dragged by her feet. It's like her body didn't want to move, it didn't want to leave. She didn't want to go back to that place. But it wasn't her choice. She's been living with her aunt for the past week, but it seemed that her mother had another person in mind to take care of Alexis. Not that she needed taking care of, she was perfectly fine on her own. But no, her awful example of a family think that she isn't in a position to be alone. Alexis doesn't necessary hate them, it's just that most of them didn't even bother visiting Alexis and her mum, and now that she's gone they're all trying to help.
Lex's hair was lazily pinned up in a messy bun, she wore a hoodie and jeans. Basically, she put on anything she saw in front of her, not that she gave much thought to how she looked right now. She had headphones on, connected to her phone, with the highest volume. Her eyes stared out the window of the car that was taking her back to her house. She dreaded the moment that she knew would come. She wasn't going to lie, she was having doubts about entering that place again.
"Now, if you need anything, anything at all, just give me a call, alright?" Alexis had lowered the voice when they had arrived to the house. Looking out the window, Alexis stared at the house for a moment before nodding. Getting out along with her duffle bag, that had her clothes for that week, she watched her aunt leave. Alexis stood in her place for a few moments, just staring at the house. Glancing at the black Audi, Lex figured that her new guardian was already inside, better not keep her waiting. With a soft sigh, Alexis walked towards the door.
Taking out her keys, Alexis unlocked it and opened the door. After a few moments, she realized that she still haven't moved, she still haven't gotten inside. "You can do this, Lexi" She said in a soft mumble as she shut her eyes. Taking a deep breath, she took two steps inside, before letting the breath out. The song that echoed through the place, helped to push Alexis' thoughts to the back of her mind. Architect Monkeys. She's always loved them. Alexis shut the door and left her bag, along with her headphone and keys, near the entrance. She walked towards the living room, her mind singing along to the song in the background.
"Hi" Alexis said with a small wave, as she saw the older woman relaxed on the couch. "I'm Alexis" She said with a soft tone, though the other probably knew her, it was polite to introduce oneself. Alexis glanced at the tv for a moment, before looking back at the woman "Make yourself at home," Alexis said with soft sarcasm. She walked towards the open kitchen and grabbed herself a bottle of water. Alexis finished more than half the bottle in one sip, before letting out a slight sigh.
