The plan sounded pretty swell in her mind, pretend to fight her fellow prison mate for a good minute or two before forfeiting the match so that her acquaintance would be released. Of course, she didn't want to just do it immediately so that the crowd was disappointed. A good blow would need to be swung and seeing as how one of her punches could blindside a terawolf, her adversary would need to be the only one to deliver the blow. Sadly, with the sudden displays of wrath to come from the girl, she could tell that this might be a little tricky after seeing her charge blindly at her. "Oh by the spirits. . ." She thought with a sigh and eye roll. If this was a real battle, it would have taken years for her to beat Alexius and she didn't have the time to wait that long.

"Hey, come on now. . ." She grumbled as she was not even budged by the pipsqueak's assault, "Is this really with all your might?" She leaped back away from the girl and began to circle around her closely. She needed to get her to think clearly if this were to play out to their liking and for that to work she would need her to listen. "There is a time and place to be rash and now is not one of them. The more you play around, the less opportunities we get to get you out of here. " Her voice growled in annoyance as she stalked her like a tiger. She needed for the crowd to believe this to be a real fight and for that she would need to get a little rough. Within not even a second, she lunged at her opponent and brought down her sword once more so that it came crashing down beside her with land-shattering force. She was nearly inches away from her face before glaring into her eyes. The crowd was in complete silence as they thought surely that Alexius had wrapped up the match with that attack. "You keep up that tantrum and I may actually have to kill you. . . please don't leave me with that kind of guilt on my shoulders." She said below her breath for only the two of them to hear. The crowd rose up in a hosanna of thrills for more of the fighting.

She backed away again this time and repeated the circling of the blonde hair woman at a slower pace this time. "This may be your only chance left if you want to make a move. It's either do or die. Now. . ." She gave her the signal before changing her stance to one where the blade scraped across the ground and held it by her side with both hands on the hilt of her sword. She then flung herself head first at the woman in a running charge with the sword dragging behind her. "Do it!" She gave her battle cry as she came closer. With each step she could feel her head fill with fear that she might indeed kill this poor, innocent woman in pure overkill with her sword. She could only grit her teeth and pray that this woman would listen to her command. Otherwise, this would be all for nothing and she would be nothing more than a murdered.

As soon as Alexius pulled away, Cassiopeia lunged for her again, but stopped short at her words. She was probably right... If this woman really was trying to get her out of here unscathed, then she was probably making it extremely hard for her. However, it didn't make her any less angry, or afraid.

All the thoughts of the forest and her beloved animals, all the kind and unkind people alike that she'd met, her family, Tampurta... they all flashed through her head, and if she wasn't so dizzy with the emotions running through her as well she'd have laughed. They did always say that your life would flash before your eyes right before you died.

Though she jumped at every move the woman made, she did not back down either. When the woman lunged for her with her sword, though she may have made a small noise of fear, the worst physical reaction was the increased shaking in her legs.

She knew she probably wouldn't be able to beat this woman in a fair fight, not if she tried, but if she was going to give her the chance to at least try, she as going to take it. As the violet-haired woman circled around her for the second time, she braced herself, imitating a stance she'd seen men take before they went in for hand-to-hand combat training.

When the woman lunged for her, this time she jumped up to strike, aiming straight for the face. She didn't want to hurt her, not even after scaring her like that, but if that was what it took get herself and possibly this woman, too, out of there, then she'd go for it. She would go for it readily, and with her all. She could only squeeze her eyes shut and hope her hit landed for now, though. If this was her only chance left, as the woman said, and it really was do or die... Well, she'd rather do and die, than just die.

It was all so quick and sudden, but for Alexius it felt like time was dragging on both her and her sword. She was reading every movement of the innocent girl as she took stance and then took the swing. There it was! She could see that this was what the girl had to offer to ensure her survival. That face was one that was terrified, but was throwing everything else aside and on the line. To think she would go so far as to close her eyes while throwing her fist like so. If she did get out alive, Alexius would only have hoped that she could meet her again to show her how to properly fight so that she could better well defend herself from the dangers Grandia had to offer. Another smile was flashed and if she could have, she would be laughing to the point that it would hurt probably hurt. Such a funny sensation that this girl gave her, she'd make for great company.

Now it was her turn to keep up her part of the bargain. She kept her eyes on the target, the woman's thrown fist. She followed it closely as the two grew closer and closer until were only about a foot or two away from each other. Without hesitation, she leaned forward and took the brunt of the punch, knuckles and everything, against her cheekbone. Even part of the shackles had cracked against her skull before she stumbled back in a daze. Everything flashed white for a second and then there was a a ringing coming the ear closest to the punch. Instantaneously, blood came running down from her scalp running down her face and through her hair. "Even with her all, she could only daze me for a second. She's definitely lucky this wasn't a real fight." She thought to herself before dropping her sword and diving to the dirt ground below her.

Everything was dead silent after the crowd gave a gasp at what just fell before them. The little woman had pulled through and beat the odds is what they were tricked into believing. The underdog came from out of nowhere and took the match with a single punch! After they all had realized what had just happened, they all rose up in cheers and applaud at the unbelievable outcome of the fight. "They sound pretty convinced." Alexius thought as she laid there pretending to be out cold. Along the audience in what seemed to be relative to a stone press box for the upper-class, resided a portly man in regal attire laying in a chaise chair surrounded by guards. There was the empor of Aldimore, simply amazed by the outcome of the match. He rose from the chair and made his way to the front of the pressbox. He held out his fist with a thumb protruding out horizontally before raising it upward without a pause. "Give the victor her freedom! The first match has been decided!" He announced firmly as he declared the match's decision to rally the crowd for the more to come as a ruler should. Like that, the wanderer's plan was successful and the thought of that made her smirk while laying there. "There you go, little one. . ." She murmured while keeping up her feign.

Ahen Cassiopeia felt her fist connect with with her former cellmate's cheekbone, a whole other wave of nausea hit her. She hated with every ounce of her being that she had to do it... but she managed. She had actually landed a punch against her, though she was sure it was all the woman's doing. She was shocked, though, to open her eyes and find the woman sprawled on the ground, sword clattering next to her. Was this it? Had that been her plan the whole time?

However shocked she was to find the woman on the ground after her hit--though she was almost certain she had to be faking--it was nothing compared to the mixture of surprise and horror she felt as the crowd rose up in cheers and congratulations on her win. "No, don't... don't applaud me for this," her voice wavered, barely audible to even herself. Even if it was all false, a "win" in this coliseum was a terrible thing. She backed away from the woman on the ground on shaking legs, nearly falling herself.

Her head whipped around towards the raised boxed-in platform she guessed contained the ruler of Aldimore. When he announced her freedom, she couldn't help feeling glad, but the feeling was overwashed by guilt. She may be getting out, but that woman... She couldn't make force her feet to move, and the guards, realizing she wasn't going to be leaving the arena on her own anytime soon, quickly marched out to extract her, not wanting to waste any time in getting the next match going.

As two guards grabbed her by the arms to lead her out, she glanced back at the woman on the ground, the violet-haired woman who had saved her. She looked out after her even after they had escorted her off of the battlefield. One of them stopped to unshackle her, freeing her from the useless but heavy bracelets. "There. Now, let's see you out of here. That was one hell of a turn if I ever saw one, eh--" one guard began saying, nudging Cassiopeia's ribs, before being cut off by a commotion from down in the prisoner's wing of the arena. "A riot? Really? Can't we ever catch a break around here." he muttered, complaining to himself, before turning back to Cassiopeia. "Look, just--see yourself out. We have to go settle this." He drew his sword and began running down the corridor to get to the cells, the other guard following closely while doing the same, leaving a still shellshocked Cassiopeia standing in their wake.

See myself out? she thought. As if. I need to see what happens to that woman. I hope those monsters get what they deserve down there. She thought bitterly, before ducking into a corner as more guards came running around the bend in the same direction the others went. Waiting until they were out of eyesight, she emerged and dusted her dress off. It was utterly ruined at this point, but she supposed she could find another later. Right now, she had some snooping to do if she was going to find her way up to the stands. Cassiopeia began strolling through the halls, coming across many doors, most leading to boiler rooms and closets of some sort, but no staircases that would lead to the stands, until eventually she reached the end of the hall.

One last door, only one place it could lead. She opened it, and breathed a sigh of relief. Stairs! Surely these lead up to the stands, she thought, and began climbing.

The sound of clattered footsteps coming over the bridge was the relieving sign that her combatant was going to be set free. With this, Alexius would be at ease while making her own escape. Still, there was this feeling of upset to knowing that such a friend was leaving her side. "Strange, I call her a friend and yet I don't even know her name. . ." She hoped she could meet such a personality like that again during her travels. They could really get to know one another if they had the chance and not on such terrible grounds like in a jail cell. "Now isn't the time for that. . .I need to figure out how I'm leaving this place." She thought as she slowly rose from the ground and wiped the bit of blood from her face off. From the looks of it, the aqueducts were going to be her only way out of here. It wasn't her forte, but she could probably swim with the current and make it to the ocean without too much difficulty.

-----------------------------------------

Back down in the prisoner's wing, there was quite the uproar going about as both guards and the prisoner's brawled. Somehow cell door's were unlocked and allowed criminals to let loose as well as free the rest of there brethren. Just like a virus, they were spreading quickly throughout the tunnels to give the guards enough trouble. Which was something head guard Julio exactly wanted due to his displeasure with the result of the first fight. He was highly criticized by the Emperor for throwing such an innocent appearing woman into the ring like and should consider himself lucky that she won the fight. Otherwise, he would be receiving a heavier punishment than just the revoking of his promotion to a general title. All this misfortune was thanks to that violet-haired wench who not only volunteered the whole match, but then even threw the match to ensure that prisoner freedom. This would definitely ruin his reputation if this got out as well. He would make sure that this woman paid for humiliating him like so. Fortunately for him, there was just the beast that they picked up on their conquers to do that

He had to wonder a little further down under the tunnels to the key belonging to the creature's awakening. It resided deep under the water once it was set inside the ring and barely came up for interaction. But once it set it's eyes on a being, it would eviscerate it within a mater of seconds. The only way to stir it from it's hiding place was a bell that rang daily for the guards to know when to switch shifts with one another. Once Julio arrived at said bell, he struck at the bell with his mace. "Wake up you damn beast!" It carried through the tunnels and even throughout the bed of the lake to disturb whatever decided to slumber there. The echoes of the bell scattered whatever remaining fish that laid there before churning another beast from it's sleep. At the end of the bell's chime, it rushed it's way to the surface to see whom it believed to be the one causing the ruckus up on the surface and hopefully end it.

---------------------------------------

Alexius could only wonder what was going on as there were no guards coming to force her into the water or opening the floodgates. She could only wait in curiosity as to what was going on that was delaying the match. What was bother even more was the sound of the water crashing around and shaking the arena about. Wasn't this floor built into the ground? What could have the ability to rock this concrete pillar around in such a violent way.Her mind was so focused on keeping her footing and not falling off into the water to notice the large frame circling around in the water. Or the fins and whiskers the size of a kraken's tentacle that slivered through the water like a flag in the air. The crowd could see everything as a flashy silver sparkled from the sun's ray onto it's shiled-like scales and the long and slender body that followed behind the head. It's two menacing reflective eyes that were only tracking the amethyst-haired prey standing on the platter before it. Some of the crowd backed away from the front row seats to what they hoped would ensure there safety. There was a bubbling screech coming from the water that set an unsettling atmosphere in the air. There was a Bay Howler in the water.
