DragonMistress07 you can freely control Yami if you wish c:
Nick's luck must have been running out, because not only was he forced to take an extra shift at his morning job as a waiter, which caused him to be late to his afternoon job as a cashier; he was then forced to wait an extra hour for the next cashier to come before he could leave. All in all making him late for picking up his daughter. Now, for anyone else, it might be okay to be a little late to pick their kids up from school, but Nick knew his daughter pretty well, and she wasn't as tough as she always pretended to be. She was a sensitive soul who had always been afraid of being abandoned; and since her father is all she has got, it wouldn't be good for her to think that he had forgotten her.
That aside, Nick had finally made it to the school; he took a bus from his workplace, which dropped him off two blocks from her school. Though he usually walked, today he was forced to run. He entered the building and went straight to the art room, knowing it was her last lesson for the day. He swung the door open, huffing out and slightly breathing unstably as he lowered his head to catch his breath. "Yami, I'm so sor--" Nick stopped mid-sentence as he noticed that his little girl wasn't alone. The redhead looked the male over, making sure he wasn't some pervert who had decided to prey on Yami just because she was sitting on her own. Nick's glare slightly softened when he saw the male's clothes, which were slightly dirtied by clay; making Nick slightly relaxed, realizing he was just the arts teacher. Yami's favorite teacher, at that.
"I'm Hayami's father" Nick spoke with a small smile, as he extended his hand to the male. "Niccolo Yamashita" The male introduced himself before looking down at his little girl and back at the male. "I'm sorry to have kept you here for this long" Nick apologized with a slight hesitance.

DragonMistress07 I apologize for the late reply; exams are closing up and assignments are due; everything has been hectic .-.
"Hey~" Nick cooed softly as his daughter ran to him, hugging him; well, hugging the part she reached which was basically his waist. Nick then looked up at Yami's teacher, finally taking the time to study the male; trying his hardest to stay on his best behavior. "Pleasure is all mine" Nick replied with a small grin.
Feeling the little girl tug at his hand, Nick knew exactly what she wanted. The redhead was so bad at saying no to his little pumpkin. Even though she wasn't too old, she was still old enough, and Nick shouldn't have to carry her; but he does. Because at times like these, when she feels close to tears, she likes to be held. Nick bent down and picked her up with ease; she was almost too light. "Shall we go home then?" Nick asked the little girl who was hiding her face in Nick's shoulder.
Hearing the female murmur something, but not really catching it completely, Nick tapped her head softly with his. "What did we say about speaking up?" He almost whispered to her, almost wanting to say his goodbye and make his way out of the classroom. "You didn't thank him" She looked at her father bluntly before looking at her teacher. "Right, my bad," Nick grinned sheepishly, enjoying the fact that she had caught on to the lesson he was trying to teach her not too many days ago; thanking someone and/or being grateful.
"Thank you for staying with Yami, and I apologize for the inconvenience" Nick apologized to the male, feeling like he had forced the other to stay here when he had probably better things to do. Though, he really was grateful that the guy decided to keep Yami company while he was frantically running all the way here.

Though Nick loved his little girl, and would never want to force her to do something that she doesn't want; her shyness is still something he worries about. She is almost seven years old and still clings to him whenever he's around. Nick knew why she did that, but it still didn't help with the fact that he couldn't always be there for her; especially with him having several jobs, and her having to go to school. Nick gave the other male a small nod as he turned around, still carrying his kid, and headed for the door. As soon as they were outside the classroom, Nick put Yami down seeing as there was no reason for her to be shy now.
Nick took a few steps ahead, before hearing the little girl call him. "Daddy!" The tone that would always bring him down to his knees, and make him accept her every request. "Invite Onii-chan to dinner" She almost demanded, but her eyes looked up at Nick pleadingly. Nick didn't really mind, quite the opposite really; since he never got the chance to make it to the teacher-parent conference, he could ask the male how his daughter was doing in school. "Why don't you go ask him?" Nick narrowed his eyes at the girl, who in exchange glared up at him. Dammit. He really needed to work on saying no to this little angel.
"It's Dream, right?" Nick questioned, just to make sure, as he entered the room again, with Yami holding onto his hand. Though he was raised by a Japanese family, they never really lived in Japan; thus making Nick not too formal when it comes to the Japanese culture. That aside, he does know everything there is to know about it, and speaks the language fluently, but it was just that he was raised in a more laid-back environment. "Yami and I were wondering if you would like to join us for dinner" He offered with a small grin. "Of course, if you don't already have plans" Nick continued as he glanced down at Yami, then back at the male to see what his answer would be.
