Andre couldn’t help but be amused that Nathan thought Regina didn’t go through his stuff as it was, had he even met the woman? She had to be the most distrusting jealous person he’d ever had the pleasure of dating. There were some amazing aspects to her as well, namely her confidence and knack for brutal honesty, but that didn’t make her possessiveness any less daunting. To add insult to injury, she was also quite smart and had made it challenge to keep his secrets under the rug. Based on today’s events, it was possible she already had an inkling of what was going on
“Perhaps, but the reality is you and I are more similar than different” he stated assertively. A car sped by, stealing his attention for a second. “Nate, you want to hide where you work and I want to hide who I meet up with for the same reason” he spoke without making eye contact. He knew it was time to set his own terms, let it be known that he wouldn’t be thwarted so easily. He let his statement linger for a moment before getting to the point, taking time to choose his words carefully “I get it, it’s hard out here for us. I’ll keep your secret if you can keep mine, how’s that?” The blonde painted a picture of kindness with his eyes, “I know your family matters to you.”

Andre watched as Nathan realized the big big picture he was implying and dropped his case– it gave him some sort of sick satisfaction. He pulled his cigarette box out of his pocket and stuck a white Marlboro between his lips without bothering to light it, hoping that clamping it down in place would hide a smugness that threatened to creep onto his expression. Nate now understood that if he was going down he’d take him down with him. He was so caught up in the competition of the moment he wasn’t seeing what he had just started; he was so preoccupied with protecting himself he didn’t take the time to take what the bartender was arguing into consideration. The dark-haired man turned away to head back into the bar, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
The blonde sighed, lifting his lighter to spark his second cigarette of the night. Every one of these took about seven minutes to burn, seven minutes for him to dwell on tonight’s events. If he had the guts to come out years ago in high school or even college this wouldn’t even be a problem, but now he was staring down the barrel of perpetual lies and dissatisfaction for the rest of his life. Andre stepped on the cigarette to suffocate the cherry and waved down a cab, giving Regina’s address as his destination.
He used his keys to enter her apartment and found her lying on her couch with dark streaks of mascara down her cheeks formed by tears. The look she gave him as he sat down next to her wrung his heart like a dirty damp rag. He pulled her close, using his thumb to wipe away all the stray makeup off her face but only partially succeeding. The blonde’s expression was pained: he loved her. Despite being unable to feel truly happy by her side, despite being unable to commit to her like he was meant to, he loved her nonetheless.
After he put her to bed he picked up her phone from the charger and searched her contacts, spotting Nathan's cellphone number. He copied the digits onto a new text message on his own phone and typed out a quick ‘drinks?- Andre’ in fear she would wake up and catch him red-handed. The mission was marked a success when he placed he phone back on the charger and slipped under the sheets next to her without stirring the young woman’s slumber.

After their brief conversation, the bartender was un able to fully concentrate on his job for the rest of the night. While he didn't mess up any drinks, the young man was unable to chat up the costumers. If only there was no rule against having cellphones, Nathan could have snatch a picture of Andre and his date. It would have give him more power over the situation, because now... He could only go around pretending nothing had happen. If he tried to say something, his secret will be out and there was a good chance Regina will try to deny the whole thing and believe whatever lies Andre fed her. And he wasn't completely sure that he could trust the blond not telling his secret if it benefited him in some way. Still Nathan wasn't ready to lose hope. Eventually, Andre will have to slip up. Hopefully before putting a ring on his sister's finger. The night felt almost eternal. But eventually his shift did end. Collecting his cellphone once more, Nathan said his goodbyes to the rest of the staff on his way out. Stopping a taxi for a ride back home. He was surprised to see a text from an unknown number, thinking that perhaps it belonged to a costumer from a few nights ago that asked his number. The man had been nice enough and good looking, so he ended agreeing and giving the man his number. He really did take his time, perhaps he had been nervous? Heh. That idea was cute enough for him that made a smile appear on his face. However, it was replaced by a sunken feeling and a frown once he opened the text. Andre? What could he possibly want? Nathan doubted the blond wanted to simply hang out. Was he going to add more to his threat? Nathan began writing and answer, staring at his words for a while before erasing them... Then writing them again. The process was repeated a fair more number of times before leaving the text box blank again and locking his phone. Damn. He was unsure how to reply to that. Nathan spend the rest of the ride thinking about it and once home, the bartender kicked his shoes off and went directly to his bedroom. Dropping his wallet and phone on the night stand next to the bed, the young man went to undress leaving only his grey boxer-briefs and slipping into his bed. He reached for his cellphone, staring at it more. He finally typed back ' When?' followed by another text of '[i[Is Regina coming too?' Stretching his arm, he reached for the charger and plugged it in before setting the cellphone down on the nightstand. Rolling to his side so his back was facing the nightstand and closed his blue eyes. Nathan was sure that tonight, he won't be able to easily go to sleep.

Nathan didn't have the best sleep. It took him a lot of time to finally drift off and when he did wake up, the young man felt like way too tired and in need of a nap. Forcing himself out of bed with a groan, the young man run a hand through his messy black hair as he went to the bathroom. It was still too early for a shower, after all he had the whole day to do so. After using the toilet, brushing his teeth and washing his face, Nathan moved to the small kitchen after picking his phone thinking of perhaps making some breakfast... Though, he was feeling too tired to put some real effort and instead ended just making some coffee and some toast with peanut butter. Flopping down on his couch with the hot coffee and half of the toast, Nate started browsing Facebook via his phone. After a good amount of his time was wasted on looking at people's posts and status updates, the dark haired male finally decided to check on his texts. Nathan couldn't help but let out a chuckle as he read Andre's. ' Glad to hear i'm not the only one she gets mad at. ' But Regina was probably a whole lot more easy on Andre than she was on her little brother. He wasn't entirely sure why he was answering the other's texts. He thought that perhaps, it was because he finally had someone who was in a sort of similar situation as him. After all, Nathan's friends who are gay where not hiding from his family.

It wasn't exactly a morning jog, but after he had woken up enough and enough time had passed after having his small breakfast and coffee, Nathan decided to change into his jogging grey pants and a black tank top, put on his running shoes and leave his apartment. In the past, he used to wake up early and go for a jog, but after taking the bartender job... He was doing that less rigorously and more like a two or three times during the week and at rare times during the weekend. Sometimes he had to work at the bar during the weekends, and that meant going to bed until the next day. He returned home two hours or so later and ready to take a much needed bath. As he walked into his home, the black haired man unplugged the earphones from his cellphone, discarding them on the small wooden table that rested propped against the wall, just a couple steps away from the apartment's door. When he was doing his run, Nathan's music was interrupted by a few dings, meaning he had some new messages. A couple where from new texts in his friends group message, however he was more inclined to see the ones that belonged to Andre. " Heh, " Something close to a chuckle left his lips as they formed a smile, while he read the blond's answer before scolding himself for doing so. As he walked towards his bathroom, Nathan typed back seconds later after reading them. ' Don't say that. Having more things in common with you doesn't please me (¬д¬。)' Nathan held his phone in his right hand as the other reached to turn the shower on. ' I don't work today. So, I will see you there... And my drinks are on you.' He send as a follow up. Nathan set the phone down by the sink so he could remove his shoes and clothing before stepping into the shower. The bartender wasn't sure why, but somehow, it felt easy to talk to Andre. Perhaps because, like the blond noted they shared some things in common that the young man had never shared with anyone else. It was an odd thing.. Overall, he still felt angry about the situation. Mainly, because things didn't went as he had hoped and the fact that he was certain that if things went down, Nathan would be getting the worst end. At least, in his own perspective of the situation. But under all that... Perhaps, he felt a bit.. Comforted about finding someone who was going through the same thing.

Nathan "Nate" Klein
His day had went lazily slow. Between chatting with some friends (making plans with some of them for another day), Grocery shopping and some online gaming. Another day successfully wasted. But he felt better with himself knowing that at least he did three things that were productive. Getting food, cleaning and go out for a run. So the didn't felt that bad. Realising it was already a bit late, Nathan hurried to change into something a little nicer than his current laze around clothes. Leaving his apartment some minutes later. Which was dark nice fitting pants, a white button up shirt under a black wide round neck sweater, the sleeves long enough to reach a bit past his wrists. The bartender had to walk a good deal before finding a taxi, arriving to the Le Coq somewhere around fifteen minutes after the blond did. Nathan's blue eyes searched the dim lit bar in search for Andre, spotting him a moment later sitting at the back of the bar. After locating his target, the young man went towards it. Taking a seat on the empty chair. " Hey... Sorry I'm late, I couldn't find a taxi.. " Was the first thing he told the blond as he let out a sigh, leaning against the back of his chair. Looking at the pretty empty looking plate of olives on the table, the young man wondered if Andre have been waiting for too long. " So.. To what do I owe this pleasure? " Nathan was quite curious to be honest and a bit worried as to why did the blond asked him to go for a drink.

Giving a soft thanks as the blond filled the empty glass of wine for him, the bartender's hand reached for the wine glass, holding it between his fingers, making a few twirls with his wrist so to make the deep red liquid stir in the glass before bringing towards his lips. Inhaling some before taking a sip. " Exactly that..." His blue eyes studied the other, as he set the wine glass back on the table. So. Andre wasn't sure why he asked him out. Knowing that made him feel far more at ease. At least the situation wouldn't be worse. " Hmm, so you are worried I may say something?
" His brows furrowed some, that was the only thing that came to mind after the blond called their situation intimidating. It was what Nathan feared at least. The bartender chose to remain silent, simply listening to what Ande had to say. The cheese was set down on the table, and when the waiter was gone the young man reached for one of the grapes holding it between his index finger and thumb. Nathan gave it a light squeeze before bring it up to his lips. The plump grape disappearing behind them. " I agree we aren't in a good position... And I still think what you are doing will bring more harm than good... " Nathan let out a sigh, bringing the wine glass back for another sip. " But I guess.. We can try to get along, " However, it wasn't easy for him to say that Andre would probably be the only one that knew how it felt to hide something like this for so long nor that it was sort of comforting. " It's sort of nice, to know someone else like me. " Nathan admitted, adverting the other man's gaze as he reached for a sliced baguette and some brie cheese, feeling the tips of his ears growing warm. " How was work?" He asked, wanting to change the subject.

He listened the other talk about work while eating the bread and cheese. Nathan couldn't help but let out laughing some at Andre's harsh words. What was that the other did again? Regina talked about Andre constantly, but the young man always zoned out during her ramblings. Was it a design agency? Or was it advertising? The black haired male kept nursing his wine glass. " So it was one of those days? Heh... You work in an agency right? " Nathan asked, preferring to leave it vague so Andre would fill in the gap. It was better than saying the wrong thing. " Mmm, Have you been working there for long? ... I heard that, the job market is very competitive for creatives... Well, for everyone I guess. Hm, You could hang in there until you find a better thing? Or start your own agency. " Nathan suggested, though Andre most likely already thought of those options. When the blond questioned about his day, the bartender took a breath letting his head drop slightly to a side, shoulders lowering as his face adopted a troubled expression. " Aah.. To be honest, it was quite bad..." The young man's gaze going to rest on his hands as he fumbled with his fingers. " It was... deliciously uneventful." The younger man could no longer fight a grin from reaching his face, his words had been laced with a teasing tone. " Hahah, I was lazy most of the day, played some games. Though I did went for a run and cleaned around, so I wasn't too lazy. " Nathan took another sip of the wine, and gave a small shrug " Well, I try to go running, do some reading, play games, watch bad movies... Aaah also nap? Haha I don't do anything too interesting.. You?" It was a bit embarrassing but it was true. Nathan didn't have any amazing hobbies.
