When it's stormy outside, I love to sit on the porch and watch the lightning crackle throughout the sky. Sometimes, I think deep thoughts... about life, about friends, about the people I know.... and other times I think shallow thoughts... like what dinner is tonight, and how hungry I am. Still other times I think of nothing at all, and I just stare into the sky... wiping away the ocassional raindrop, and marveling at the magnicent spectacle that Mother Nature has granted us.
A thunderstorm is beautiful to me... true... but it could spell out danger on occasion. Why is it that almost everyone I know has a love for something dangerous? Do I just know weird people... or is it human nature to appreciate somethings beauty because of its dangerous nature? If you really think about it, I bet everyone has an obsession with something other people fear. Take for instance... fire. At shows where fire is apart of the attraction, you and all the other people around you always 'oooh' and 'ahhh' when the person preforming has done an especially dangerous trick a lot more than if he were to just leave the fire alone like a sane person.
Gah, sry for such a thoughtful entry... but I feel like writing.

Yes, it is human nature to appreciate danger as something that is beautiful. Why? When one tames and harnesses a type of danger, others are awed at the feats that person pulled off. In fact, it's not human nature; it's just nature in general.
I gotta run---my eyes are burning up from sitting in front of the computer too long. I think I might be going blind. X_x
