A GRIMOIRE OF FORBIDDEN SUTRAS
SCROLL V: NOT HIS KIND
The gentleman entered the bar, walked to the barman and asked for vodka. He drank slowly, watching around him, waiting.

She was a beautiful woman; copper skin, perfect body, lovable face, long black hair, hazel eyes with an inner light. The only thing not fitting her was her companion, a fragile looking man, the kind of man who gets the worst during his college years but years later, now as a professional, avenges himself from those who tortured him during his nerdy years.

The gentleman looked at the couple. At first they seemed happy, but there was something else, underneath. Some sort of discomfort in both of them, a clumsy effort to have a good time. It didn't last.
As swiftly as a passing breeze, the forced happiness was gone and in its place the bitter seed of an old argument flowered. Clumsy words left aside, firm yelling taking place, louder and louder, mutating into insults, blindly trying to hurt at each other.

"You are a b***h! A selfless cheating whore!" The man yelled and she went silent for a moment.
"And most probably, you're not man enough if you have to complain about her fidelity. No happy woman goes around looking for something better unless she's not happy for real." The gentleman said in a loud enough voice to get the attention of the whole bar.
"Let's get out of here!" Ordered the man to the offended beauty sharing his table.
"Easy as that? You just escape as an old-fashioned coward?" The gentleman raised a brow, barely drawing a smile across his face.
"I'm not going with you." The woman said.
"Don't ******** with me, just come!" Yelled the man reaching for her arm to pull her, but his fingers barely touched the fabric of her clothes when a firm hand grasped his wrist.
"She's not obliged to go with you." The gentleman whispered in the man's ear.
"Let me go!" The man cried taking his arm off the gentleman's grasp. "You have no idea of who I am! I can make a hell of your ******** life!"
"No. Your influences could make me have some minor pains, but you, being the coward you are, wouldn't even dare to cause me trouble by calling me names, much less making a hell of my life. Me, on the other hand, I wouldn't dare to bring hell into your life, that'd cost me a lot of work and wasted time, however I could make a hell of your death." Replied the gentleman staring directly at the man's eyes.
"Ar-are you threatening me?"
"Am I? Maybe you could ask for your lawyer's opinion... or keep on pushing my buttons by abusing of a lady on my face and find out."
The man stepped back, feeling a very uncomfortably shiver, just like in the old times, just like in highschool and college. He was powerless, he was scared, and he just turned and walked out the bar not looking back. The gentleman felt sorry about that man, so weak, so pathetic, couldn't even stand for a woman like the one who left behind.
"I suppose I'll say thank you now." The beauty said.
"Suppositions may be wrong." Replied the gentleman.
"Shouldn't I thank you, then?"
"For scaring your husband? No. I haven't made your life better, just made my staying in this bar the more comfortable."
"He's not my husband and now I see that you're just the average shinning armor knight defending a helpless lady."
"Dark knight at most, I've never fancied shinny things unless those are a lover's eyes in the middle of passion."
"Interesting, a Casanova instead of a heroic knight."
"Not at all. Casanova would hit on every beautiful girl at sight; I wouldn't even try a movement on you."
"Wouldn't you?"
"Never. You're not my kind."
"Why did you help me then? And what's your kind?"
"Everything should have some meaning or answer? I don't think so. Now, if you excuse me..."
"Wait!"
"Yes?"
"May I... invite you a drink? Maybe I'll get at least the answer about why I'm not your kind."

The talking was nice, the drinks both refreshing and dizzying. The hours passed fast.
The gentleman suddenly stood. "I must go now."
"Fine. It was nice to meet you and talk." The woman said with a shy smile.
"I said I must go, but you may come."
"I'm not like that. I just met you a few hours ago."
"Where do you think I'm going, uh? Are you having some dirty ideas or something? You're still not my kind, remember?" The gentleman smiled amused. "Now come or stay, but if you stay you won't get any more excitement tonight."
"That a promise?"
"It'll be a bang."

The new couple left the bar, they walked through the lonely streets and after a few minutes the gentleman stopped and gently but firmly held her by her arms and kissed her. The most passionate and exciting kiss she had in years. And as suddenly as it started, it finished.
"Why do you stop it?" The woman said.
"You're not like that, remember? I'm just a stranger you met tonight, so we shouldn't be making out."
"I liked it."
"So you're like that after all? You should make your mind."
"I'm not like that... usually..." And this time, she started the kissing. A long, deep, love hungry and passion thirsty kiss.
And then she heard a muted sound and felt her strength abandoning her. The gentleman embraced her and slowly put her on the floor as her life escaped her body through the bullet holes in her chest. And she closed her eyes.
"You're not my kind as I said. You're beautiful, smart, nice, and fun to be around... but you're also a hit. Dead girls aren't my kind."
And this way, the gentleman left behind a lonely girl who used to have a bad boyfriend and a very sad and angry ghost who would wait for him forever if necessary, not for the bullets themselves, but for the anticlimactic and sexless end for a great night.
