This barren bit of land Is draining away my life, Draining away my energy. I don’t think I can stand here any longer And before I can give it another thought
I fall
I fall into the river And I cannot swim. I don’t even have the energy To try and stay afloat And just before I begin to leave, Leave in the current, I hear a splash. Then I hear nothing for a while…
When I awake I see nothing Nothing but the moon. I hear a noise and look behind me. The darkness conceals all, All but those dark, intense, blue eyes. Then I hear the sobs. It is then that I realize I am on her side. The one with the dark blue eyes brought me here.
Slowly I approach her. Her head stayed buried in her knees. I could hear her pain, but still I asked, “Why do you cry?” “He hurt me…it’s always him…” she sobbed. “Who hurt you?” I knew and dreaded her answer. She lifted her head so I could see Her large grey-blue eyes, Looking straight ahead with anger. “Him…the one across the river… He toys with me like I’m a pet, No, like I’m a puppet. I want only one thing and he refuses to give it to me.” She almost growled her words out at me. “I’m sure there’s a reason. This must be a mistake.” I couldn’t agree, not against him. I shouldn’t even be with her, But the one with the dark blue eyes brought me.
She went back to sobbing And I turned towards the river. Still I could not see well, But I heard the rushing water. In front of that water Was a pair of dark blue eyes. I suddenly grew tired. I fell to my knees… The darkness consumed me yet again.
