Location: Edinburgh
As you can tell, we got in with no problems. The time here is around 6:22PM. I'll write as much as I can because I'm ready to crash.
Flying in made me remember how much I like being at 36000ft. That's when you're over the clouds. There was a blanket of clouds, and the shapes looked like these weird and fantastic snowdrifts. The blanket looked like miles and miles of crisp snow. Really, people wouldn't think it but clouds can create the most amazing landscapes in the sky. I loved watching the sky light up softly with the full moon still hanging.
Being on the ground was aggravating. It took a while to get our bearings, mainly because my parents hadn't read through all the papers so got defensive when our host started asking for things. He was nice about it, at least. I'm just glad that my parents eventually apologized so we didn't seem like complete asses. (Or arses). Even though the weather is bad, I loved flying in. Imagine green land everywhere as just as you dip under the clouds, you look out and sunbeams illuminates the land as if it were something godly. For some reason, I still feel like I'm on the plane. I could just be horribly tired.
Edinburgh has so many hills and is so compact that I don't think it's possible to gain much weight while staying here. It's not worth it to have a car, so everyone just walks. This city reminds me of Charleston. I guess my mom was right in that we would fit in because even though we're so far from home, I don't feel too comfortable. Once I got over where I was, it seemed regular and not too exotic. It'll probably take a few days before the novelty of the accents wears off, though. For everyone curious: Yes, there are many lads wearing kilts because after hundreds of years, they're still in vogue. Yes, I've seen attractive lads wearing them. No, I have yet to take any pictures. I hope to rectify that.
I've also started on my first round of postcards, so people can start expecting them pretty early. And now, I must retire. I really wish that they'd figure out a way to let people in coach sleep.
Good day/Good night, all.
