'Tis an entry about my AWESOME time at the anime convention, ANIME-EXPO!!!
I took my friend Sara and my friend Kiersten to AnimeExpo in Long Beach last weekend....it...was.....SO COOL! <///3
Here's a little story I wrote about the trip (so none of friends will ask questions)
THE TRIP OVER
Early Friday morning, the girls and I set out. Prepared for a long journey (3 hours), I brought along 'The Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: Conquerer of Shambala' to watch on my portable DVD player. A few birthday presents from Kiersten changed my mind because the second I saw 'Naruto the movie: 3', FMA was out of the question. We enjoyed about two thirds of the movie before motion sickness got the best of me So, the rest of the trip, we listed to MCR and scared my mom half to death rofl
THE LINE
Yes, of course. Anyone who's ever been to an anime convention knows of the fowl demon known as 'THE LINE'. We "enjoyed" 2 and a half hours of getting to know the cosplayers around us only to find out that we had been waiting in the WRONG line @.@ So, just when we thought we were almost there, we had to switch lines. For an hour and a half, we enjoyed getting to known the other Pre- registered cosplayers. Oh fricking joy..... 0-o After 4 hours of waiting in line, we found out we were waiting in line....for the LINE mad Fortunately, this was a MUCH shorter line 3nodding
INSIDE ON THE FIRST DAY
The second we got inside, we heard a frightening sound...our stomachs grumbling... tossed in all kinds of directions for the nearest place with food, we stumbled upon 'The Islands'...after a 45 minute wait, we were seated....and, 20 minutes later, we had out energy back 8D ...mostly ninja ...
After wasting so much time, we were ready to go find 'The Exhibit Hall', but, something got in our way...The Artisit Alley...
"And to think I was going to do this 00;" - Me heart
I've never seen so many talented people in one place...I was only facinated for a few minutes. After that, I was ready, able, and willing to find 'The Exhibit Hall', but the girls were totally fixed on drawing of their favorite anime characters.
EXHIBIT HALL
After detachinng the girls from art they had no intention of buying, we searched for 'The Exhibit Hall'....it took a few staff members, but we finally found the main attraction....and boy was it. Booths galore! Ramune, Toei Animation, TokyoPop, ADV films, Bandai Entertainment, and most importantly, ANIME NETWORK. The whole reason Sara came..... Vic Mangonga...the voice of Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist...there....signing autographs and hugging babies xp ....Of course, the very FIRST thing we do, is walk over and get in the slightly short line. Apparently, my name (Moo-chan) meant something special to him. I got a hug :3 Another present of Kiersten's (a Fullmetal Alchemist keychain) came in handy ^^ Vic, being the awesome guy he is, signed it for me 4laugh AND he did Ed's voice (said: I'm sorry Al. It's all my fault...I'll get your body back!) just for us 0-0 I'm so cool.... B) Can you believe I was shaking after that? *faints* Anyways, we shopped for a few, still jabbering on about our meeting with Vic....and, of course, when it was time to leave, we yelled "GOODBYE!! " t him.... (ZOMG!!! He said "bye" back 8D)
DEATH NOTE
Now, one of the main reasons I came was for the back to back showing of the 'Death Note' movies. So, of course, I was totally paranoid about time. I dragged them all the way to the Terrace Theater where we sat in the front row mad D In just 5 (or 6 ninja ) hours, I turned sara into a complete 'L' fan whee My mom was just totally disturbed, and Kiersten didn't really care -_+
THE HOTEL
We thought we'd enjoy a nice, relaxing hotel...the local Marriot (one of them)...instead, we got crappy service -_-" There was ONE bed for the FOUR of us....poor Sara was forced to sleep on the cold, hard floor gonk Angry, but too tired to care.
THE SECOND MORNING
We got up early, thinking we'd get to the convention early enough to do EVERYTHING!! wahmbulance wrong.... Sara and I wanted to cosplay SO bad, we went down to a thrift store and bought white t-shirts and a comfy jeans (L). Heck, we were desperate enough to attack the local Walgreen and buy $8 eyeliner....but we looked awesome mad D so it was okay....didn't arrive at the convention'til 11, and guess who was there...again.... VIC heart heart He did a live commentary....man, he's hillarious....he even SANG <////3 It was the English version of the opening to DN Angel (he plays Dark) And, of course, someone made him say
rofl "COLNEL MUSTANG IS DEAD SEXY!!!.....IN A MINI SKIRT!!!!" rofl
My life was officially complete when I heard that sweatdrop At the end of his commentary, he announced that there would be a 'Voice Acting contest" and Kiersten was THRILLED! 4laugh
LAST FEW HOURS...
After a quick lunch, we were off. Kiersten was the lucky number '4' and we were all eager to hear her voice ^^ Unfortunately, she was SO nervous, she didn't get much feeling into the line and she was NOT picked as a runner- up sad I felt like I could've won, but I didn't relize this until after the fact.... We shopped some more...well, until I was dragged away to 'The Artist Alley' again I forgot all about the 'GaiaOnline' thing until the last minute. I dragged everyone up the stairs to the Ballroom where the Gaia staff chatted about random new stuff and gave out prizes...but when it came to the 'Q & A's' I was gone. Thinking about our perfect day, we went back downstairs for a drink. I grabbed an oarnge juice and suddenly felt the urge to know the time mad D I reached for my phone, which was so much easier than digging my wath out of my pocket....it wasn't...there..... stressed I searched my bag over and over, I retraced my steps, we even looked through the Lost and Found. I knew I would'nt be able to talk to Sencer, Meggie-chan, Mari-chan, Trixie, Meggi-chan, Kari-chan, or ANYONE online for a very long time Without relizing it, I cried. I just leaned up against the wall...and cried...no one seemed to notice the bloodshot eyes or tears running off my chin (which made things worse gonk ) My mom dialed my dad, and I knew EVERYTHING was over...Kiersten desperately called my phone over and over until someone finally picked up. Lost and Found DID have it. Apparently someone had just dropped it off....if only I knew who it was, I'd give them a hug...
LEAVING
We spent a few more minutes looking around 'The Artist Alley', but overall, that was it. The convention, for us, was over. I dragged myself to the Hummer thinking of all the people we'd met and the good times we had. Suprisingly, the car ride home wasn't all that depressing. I pulled out the FMA movie and we went to town ^^ Kiersten even drew a picture of me and *cough* someone *cough* ninja Sara just drew pictures of 'L' >< ....and me, I tried to watch the movie with chatting girls and the air conditioner preventing me from hearing ANYTHING -_-"
After dropping off the girls, I finally...went home...(got there at midnight mad D )
