"You're useless! Useless!!!" A voice screamed. She felt a sting on her face as a hand smacked her. "I-i'm s-sorry..." she stuttered, tears welling up in her bright eyes. "I'll c-clean it up.." she hung her head. "You better you little witch" he snapped, grabbing her by the roots of her hair and pushing her out the door. The man slammed the door behind her and stormed off into the other room. She hit the ground hard, scraping her arms. she layed there, almost afraid to move. After a minute or so she wiped her tears and stood up, running out to the small shed. she grabbed a new jar and some old rags. "Where are you, you little witch!?" he yelled. She quickly spun around and ran out of the shed. As she ran through the door way, her sleeve caught on a rusty nail. She was jerked back, but she quickly recovered and ran again, letting the nail rip through her sleeve. "C-coming!" she yelled back. she made it back to the door, pushing it open. "What to you so long?" he sneered "I'm sorry..." she replied and handed him the new jar. He snatched it from her shaking hand. "Bout time you did something right" he walked off with the jar in hand. She let out a sigh of relief after he left and used the rags to sop up the mess that used to be a jar of palm oil. When she was done she took the rags outside and sat them on a small wooden stool. She walked back inside and into the back room where the man had gone. "C-can I go t-to bed now?" she mumbled. "I guess so, you've caused enough trouble today" he said, not lifting his gaze from his work. "Th-thank you father!" she cried and ran up a staircase and into a small room. She layed down on the floor and covered herself up with a large sack that was full of holes. Saying a small prayer, she quickly let sleep take her, closing her eyes.
