I decided I'll blog Nanatsuiro Drops and talk about my impressions on each episode.
Episode 1 - What Color is Fate?
Just watched the first episode today. Animations are really good and there are a whole bunch of chibi scenes in this anime.
The OP is wonderful and it's even more wonderful now that I know KOTOKO wrote the song.
Story is plain and doesn't offer anything new to the magical girl series. (Haven't I seen this in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha?) At least the characters are nicely drawn and the backgrounds are colorful and the sky has so many stars in it.
Not recommended for everyone, but compared to the rest of the Summer 2007 animes. This anime is GOOD! But if you compare it to last season's animes then it's only decent. I'll continue watching this series unless it gets totally boring or totally cliche.
Episode 2 - Hydrangea Colored Memories
Sumomo gets another stardrop and Nadeshiko finds out about Sumomo's magical stuffed animal "Yuki" and her magical powers. Oh, and Tsuwabuki gave Sumomo some advice.
Other than that the anime felt a little plain. Nothing new in the magical girl genre and nothing really stood out, except for the animations and that catchy OP song that is still AWESOME!
Episode 3 - Golden Wishing Star
Another plain episode. In this episode we meet the rival of Sumomo and Tsuwabuki or should I say Yuki when he's in his stuffed animal form. The rival (who I can't seem to remember her name) tells Sumomo that she will never get another stardrop and that makes Sumomo cry and later Tsuwabuki cheers her up by telling her to wish upon a golden star.
Again, we have another predictable anime episode and again the animations were really good. So far if the anime continues to be like the way it is right now than I wouldn't mind, because at least it's simple and brings a smile on my face when I watch it. Here's hoping that next episode will be better in story and character development.
P.S. Does Sumomo cry over every single thing?
Episode 4 - Summer-coloured Pool Side
Did this anime just get better or something. Maybe, because this was a pool episode. Well, we get more love-romance between Tsuwabuki (Human Form) and Sumomo. The love-romance is way way way better than the magical girl parts of this anime. Let's hope the next episode has more love-romance than magic. And from the title of the episode I have a feeling it's going to be a good one.
Episode 5 - Heartbeat-coloured Starry Sky
I'M GOING TO STOP TALKING ABOUT NANATSUIRO DROPS, BECAUSE IT HAS GOTTEN KINDA DULL!
