feeling the cold metal beneath my hand,
my emotions and thoughts,
gone haywire,
now calm and cool to the touch,
what with sadness and pain,
now gone from my mind,
my mind works,
harder and faster wanting sleep,
yet i lay awake,
deep into the night,
i lay awake in the slowly fading night,
soon to be the day i despise,
with laughter and smiles,
now gone and faded away,
yet still in the silent and dead midnight,
i am awake....
just awake
