It all started in September...
Adventures of London Lil, days 6,7 and 8
Ok,this is going to be a long one guys,so grab a chair, fasten your seat belt and join the ride.
Sonja and I decided to go downtown (The City) this weekend,so we did.We went along Baker Street, saw the Sherlock Holmes museum and hotel, then we turned to Oxford Street and oh my gosh!Reductions, half price sales everywhere!Of course we went shopping immediately.I bought myself a nice little T-shirt with a hoodie and a scarf called pashmina, which looks like a little blanket. You'll see that on the photos I'll be displaying once I get home.
Anyways, after spending an hour shopping for clothes on reduction,we went to Regent Street, which was a wonderful little stroll. After that we had a Subway and went home beacuse those streets are sooooo long!Anyways, that was Friday for the two of us.
On Saturday we went downtown again, but this time we went to those more famous places, like Trafalgar Square and Piccadily Circus. On Piccadily there is this huge Virgin Megastore,I bought a coulple of little things there, badges and such. After that we went to Charing Cross Road, which is this huge road with bookshops and record stores all along the way.I bought 5 books there, spent nearly 50£.Books are very expensive there but they are definitely worth having, especially since some of them I can't find at home.Oh and we went to visit the National Gallery, they have this lovely exhibition of portraits painted by famous Dutch painters like Rembrandt and Hals. That was defintely worth seeing.Unfortunately I couldn't take any photos there, but I did buy a mini jigsaw puzzle with Van Gogh's Sunflowers. So cliche,I know. mrgreen And that's about it for Saturday.
On Sunday,we went to see Stonehenge and we went to a little town, called Bath, located near the border with Wales.I was fascinated by the architecture of the city,it IS SO BEAUTIFUL!Unfortunately I was out of space on my camera, but I managed to take some photos. It's really no use of telling you anything about the town, you have to see it for yourself. wink Anyway,it was very late when we came back to London,it took us more than 3 hours.I was glad when I arrived back at the house where I'm staying and treated myself with a large portion of fish&chips. rofl
Now that I have bored you to death,I will thank everyone who managed to reach the end of this entry.
I'll write more, because I only have 5 more days left in England and there are still lots more things to see!
I'll try and get Sonja into taking me to the Tower of London and the Houses of Parliament.Maybe this afternoon.
Cheers lovelies! mrgreen

I'm jealous of the Sherlock Holmes museum and the sales! Wow! How lucky!

Seeing the art definitely sounds wonderful as well. I too enjoy seeing things like that.

My jealousy has no end! I wanna see Stonehenge too! lol

I've heard people talk about the little town called bath, but never really knew where it was.

I'm glad you seem to be having a really great time! smile

Awesome weekend! You made some good memories here, Lillie. I don't know why I didn't come and read these journals sooner...I've been to all the places you went to - Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery (isn't it cool that it's free?), Stonehenge...you made me smile with the memories! The best was Bath, because we spent 4 days there, and, yes, the architecture is the coolest!
