Rain
Wow...I don't know what it is about rain and torrents of wind, but for some reason, I can't just sit inside while it's storming out. Today, there wasn't an actuall storm (with thunder and lightning), but this one cell really dumped a heck of a lot of rain, and it managed to bring a ton of rain. So I go outside, just as the wind starts picking up, and I just stand there, at the end of my porch, letting the wind whirl around me, feeling the spray from the rain. You can't see the dead end 'cause it's raining so hard (and that's not so far from my house). Everything is in a haze of black and white, and all I can do is stand there, mezmerized, completely dead to everything but the sounds and feelings from the wind and rain. This went on for a good ten minutes, the torrents, and me standing there like a frozen idiot. And it was equally as hypnotic watching it subside. Everything was slowly fading into color. The sun was coming back from behind the clouds giving everthing an iridescent glow. Steam rose from the creek in the forest and rose out of the trees. I just sat there, until the sun had just about dried everything and all colors had returned to the trees and such. It was incredible.
