I was just thinking how growing up in the millitary made me so different from my cousins and family. I'm more open about things that they find me crazy for. Tattoo's, piercings, and just the way I dress. I've moved around more often than I've stayed in one spot. Moving every 3-4 years or so to a new home, new school, new friends, leaving the old behind and starting a new. It was especialy hard as a teenager leaving a loved one such as a boyfriend behind because you had to move where and when the millitary said. You find alot of friends are two faced or fake when you do leave, but there all you have. Living like gypsies on the highway, forgetting friends, forgetting schools and homes. I don't really have a place to call home and I'm ready to settle down in one spot. I thought I had a happy childhood and that I didn't mind moving around so often, but I realize now that I hated it in some ways. But now I do it as a millitary spouse rather than a military child and I'm waiting for the retirement day when I can finaly settle down and make a home to stay. this song just reminds me of all the moving and way of life I live. So just thinking about my 24 years in the millitary so far. 15 more years to go.
