The Omen Sisters part one
this is a new story i have been trying out.

"Blah. Blah. Blah." said Lily as she paced the room awaiting her sister's arrival. "All the ever does it lie to me!" Lily protested, wanting desperatly to get out of the dingy old house that held all the childhood memories. They were mostly good memories but some of the fresher onces were tainted with the reek of blood and sorrow.

Lily sat down on the ripped, leather chair with a sigh of boredom and anticipation. "Damn it, Hallie." She rester her head in her palms, gazing out the window waiting for her to drive up, honk the horn, and help pack all of their belongings into the back so that they could start their new life away from the town which, saw them as "The Omen Sisters".

It was a stupid name, really, but when every one she used to know; her neighbrs, her friends and all the people she had ever met, called her an Omen Sister she found herself alone with no one but her sister and the family dog, Lulu. The dog sat next to her chair waiting patiently on the floor and looked uop at her as though reading her thoughts.

She never remembered the dog being this quiet, nor still. Lulu must have understood the previous conversations Hallie and Lily had tried so hard to forget. They now had to forget all they had spoken of so that the family wouldn't break apart, even thogh it was only the two of them now.

Lily closed her eyes wishing to hear the honk of the car or the slow creaking sound of the door across the room, which would mean Hallie was home. No sounds came except for the soft pant coming from Lulu close by.

With her eyes still closed, she lay back in the chair quietly thinking. She listed out the things that had happened all in the past week: parent's died, buried, everyone became afraid of the two, and there was a strange power that came from Hallie when Lily was in danger.

The memory had been pushed aside out of reach, out of her mind but now; sitting in the silence she couldn't help but to relive the horrifying night.

The moon was almost half-full, seen though the window and only small clouds floated in the night. It was a normal sky, a normal day. No one could have ever guessed something was about to happen.

The backdoor slammed open.

"Get down!" Came Hallie's voice in a hoarse whisper.

Both Hallie and Lily lay on their stomachs, waiting. A figure moved across the room towards them. Another crash came from upstairs.

More scared than she had ever been in her life, Lily watched as her mother was thrown down the stairs by another figure. No lights had been on in the room while Lily and Hallie had been watching a movie but now Lily had regretted ever suggesting the trip to the store.

"Get up." Said a cold voice.

Hallie was first to stand, grabbing her sister's arm and helping her up. Lily couldn't take her eyes off of her mother sitting feet away. She wanted to scream at her to wake up. She wanted to run to her mother's side and be sure she was okay, but she couldn't.

"Hallie? Lily?" Said the figure from the top of the staircase. The two girls looked up at it. The voice was familliar but she was unable to recognize whom it belonged to.

"Second thoughts?" Said the man closest to the sisters.

"No. I apologize." It was a woman's voice from behind the shadowy gloom.

"Good." He paused. "Where is the other one?"

"He is dead in the hallway." Answered the woman.

Lily knew it must have meant her father. The man who had been so invincible for all these years had now been stuck down without the slightest struggle? She tried not to believe it but looking at her mother lying there so close to death if not already there, she knew they weren't lying.

The distant barking of Lulu came from the backdoor. The dog ran inside growling at the two. Lulu looked reluctant to attack but did anyways. The man waved his arm up at the dog and Lulu was thrown backwards out the door with a yelp of fear.

Hallie gasped. She ran away to the kitchen pulling Lily behind her but Lily slipped out of her sisters grip and toppled to the floor. The carpet cushioned her fall but it did not stop the man from picking her up by her hair and taking her hostage.

Hallie paniked and ran into hiding. She wasn't a brave older sister like they should be for a younger sibling but she did manage to call 911 before her cowerdice led her to run from the house.

(PART TWO ON NEXT ENTRY)
