around 2001, there was a site realeased called "how to dress emo." the site had relatively simple instructions on how to fit the role in what other people who where not emo assumed would be a passing trend. boy, where they wrong- the emo explosion is still in full force now, years later, and the fashion just keeps getting better and better not only that, you can now instantly tell what music someone listens to by their clothing and vice versa.
someone recently wrote the site and complained that the old "how to dress emo" site was incorrect because "that is how normal people dress." for the most part, they are right. the term "emo" has become a thing of the past, now replaced by it the new term, "scene." gone are the days of thick-rimmed glasses, sweaters, and jeans that actually fit. everything is completely androgynous in the myspace age; boys are playing dress up with mommy's makeup; girls are attempting to look more and more like glam rock stars.
everyone seems to be involved in some sort of weird yet semi- interesting contest where the winner wears the tightest jeans, puts on the most common for this day and age looking makeup, and sports the best looking haircut. in the end, everyone wins. they all end up looking the same but some have their own unqiue style!!!!
basically that is the end my rant but so far i believe it is a very good bases of a argument!!! because so many people argue on what is really emo what is a joke and who is emo or who is a poser!!!
it should'nt matter what you wear it is all how you act i believe that you should be able to be wat ever you want either way.(unless you are prepp then forgett it LOL)
Now, for the POSER FACTOR there is no point to be calling anyone a poser for the fact that most GOTHS, EMOS, AND PUNKS are poser cuz they where never either of any of them from the beginning cuz most G,E,Ps just recentally started being G,E,Ps.
