Chapter 1
I hung up my cell phone. It had been almost a full month now since I moved in with my aunt, I didn't mind living with her, but it was a little awkward not living with mom. I was happy for her that she was going
to get a bigger raise sine she had to move to "France" for her job, at least for a little wile. But at least I didn't have to live with my dad, I was glad that he was on a vacation close to "Hawaii". But I wasn't all alone,
my cousin was here..sometimes, god knows shes always going out, and my aunt dosn't give me a hard time with anything, shes a pretty cool, free going person.
I turned to face her.
"So how is she?"
She asked looking at my closed cell.
"Shes ok, who doesn't love France? Shes tired of all the work thought...she said shes sorry for leaving me with you, she knows how much you have on your plate"
"She makes it sound like your a burden, just cause I have all this going on doesn't mean I'm not capable of taking care of you..its fine..."
"yea I know, I tried to convince her, but you know how she is.."
I said rolling my eyes a little.
She smiled and lid up another cigar, I glared at her and fanned the smoke out of my face.
"Why can't you do that outside, like normal people"
"the windows are open.."
"that gives it no justice.."
"whatever Alice! This is my house, I smoke where I want."
Her town lowered.
I gave her a sarcastic look and stood up.
"I'm gonna get something to eat, theres nothing in your fridge!"
I announced reaching the door.
"Ok, don't take my car, I'm gonna go out soon"
She answered letting a puff out.
I looked at her car keys as I walked by, Grate now I have to walk.
I reached outside and took off as I listened to my iPod, a little of rock will help the situation.
Somehow the loud throbbing music of rock helps me through boring situations like this, I guess it inspires me at times, gets my mind to rap around something interesting. But now I had to think of something more important than to entertained myself, and that was..where I was going to eat at. Its not like I was going to a retaraunt, no way, I looked around and saw the usually Mc.Donalds, but theirs no way I was going to eat there. That place has enough people to eat there as it is. I looked up as an unusual cool breeze blew by making chills run up my spine, the sky was as gray as ever. Quickly now, I smell the rain about to come, so now this lead to the mall. I could probably just sty there for a while as the rain passes, and I can get something to eat as well.
So the mall it was, I quickly crossed the street and half ran tot he main entrance, it didn't take me long before I reached the inside.
Now without a doubt, I knew where to go, "Hot Topic" my favorite store, but its not like I was going to buy anything, I'm usually broke and that store is pretty expensive. As I walked there I sort of looked around for any place to snack in, i should probably go to the food court, I'll surely find something there.
I walked into the store, and like always, I wished that I could buy the entire store, but that was never going to happen.
I walked out again, now in the search for "Food", I could almost hear my stomach thanking me.
I finally decided, a nice hot dog would hit the spot..maybe two. I hadn't eaten those in a long time anyhow, so i made my way to "Fast and go", a nice little place where they had burgers and hot dogs, and such.
I ordered my food and sat on a small outside area that it had a small waterfall and a little pond, sadly the pond was full of trash, then again..this was an eating area. I sat on small table for two people, I quickly started eating away the two dogs and by the time I was on the second one I was getting full.
I got up and dumped the rest in the trash, I looked back at the sky as it suddenly started to rain, I opened the double doors and it suddenly stop.
"s**t!"
I heard someone curse out.
Someone quickly yanked the door open; I quickly stepped back
"WHAT THE HE-"
The man in front of me cut himself off.
He had anger written on his face, the see through part of his shirt caught my eye, it looked like he had spilled water on it. I looked down at the ground and noticed a tray with spilled soda and some food spilled on the floor.
Then everything hit me, I did this.
"..I'm..so..sorry!"
I said slowly covering my mouth as I met his glare.
"God damn it!...you should watch where your going"
He said trying to shove the drink off.
I quickly nodded.
"I'll go get some napkins!"
I said quickly stepping beside him, I asked another food place for tons of napkins and ran back.
"Here.."
I handed him the napkins.
He yanked them out of my hand and used them to try to dry his shirt.
A couple of young men stood behind him now.
"Raven, what the hell happened to you?"
A tall man with short blonde hair asked.
I looked at the four of them.
"Who's she?"
another one asked.
" May isn't going to be happy about this!"
the blonde said again.
He stood up.
"would you guys shut up!"
He said looking back at them.
He turned again and looked at me, I quickly froze.
"I'm really really sorry, I didn't..I wasn't..I'm s-"
"- its fine"
He cut me off with an annoyed voice.
A young girl quickly walked up next to him and touched where his shirt was stained.
"Oh my god Raven, what happened to you?"
"it was just an accident.."
He said taking her hand off.
"..is..there anything I can do?"
I asked quietly.
For all I knew I was going to get beaten up.
"its fine.."
He said again.
"..you did this to him"
The girl asked.
"well..I..I didn't see him coming..and..the door..."
I didn't have the words to explain.
"Look! its fine, ok..just..leave it alone"
He firmly said picking up the tray.
I quickly reacted and started to help him with it, but he quickly moved it away from me. I stood up and stepped back.
"Well..at least let me pay you for the food"
I said taking out the rest of my money.
"it wasn't my food..it was hers.."
He said in a low tone without looking at me.
"oh.."
I looked at her.
She glared at me a bit as she firmly placed her hands on her hips.
"here.."
I handed her the money.
at first she simply looked at it, then finally took it; with an attitude.
"..well..if..theres anything els..I can do.."
I looked down at him.
"Just get out of here all ready!"
She said step closer to me.
"oh..right..well..I'm rally sorry.."
I said as I stepped aside and took off.
I felt like such a fool for doing that, I was so stupid, how could I have missed him? I noticed that a few people looked at me as I walked off, I guess they thought I was pretty stupid too.
I quickly walked back outside of the mall and stood under the small rood of the entrance, where a few other people were standing there as well. I sat on a small empty bench and put my head on my hands. I was glad that was over, could I have been more stupid?...probably.
I looked out into the street, it was still raining, even harder now. Today was a grate day for me..oh yea..
I thought sarcastecly. I took out my cell and started dialing my aunts number.
"Leaving all ready?!"
I hear his familiar soft voice.
My eyes opened up more and my heart started beating faster. I looked up and noticed he was stepping in front of me, he had his usual nice smile on.
"..Hi.."
I had no words.
It had been so long since I'd seen my brother. I couldn't contain myself, I got up quickly and hugged him like never before.
I thought I'd heard him gasp for a moment, his body felt stiff, especially since he gently pated my back a little with one hand. He didn't seem as exited to see me as I did him, but I'm sure he was trying hard..after all he was still getting use to his new self.
"heh..hey.."
He said softly.
I slowly stepped back.
"its been so long..."
"heh..nothing that big, only two years"
He said placing his hands in his pockets.
"well excuse me mister high and mighty, but for us two years s a big deal.."
"Heh..I guess.."
He only continued smiling.
"hmp! so how'v you been? hows..you know.."
I was extremely carefully of what I said since we were in public.
"Its been good, I have a few bad days here and there..but its mostly good"
He sat next to me; I followed.
"thats good!'
I responded with a big smile.
"I can't imagine how hard it must be.."
I tried t make the comment as good as possible, but it made his smile fade.
"..I hope you never do"
He said looking to the sky.
"..I'm sorry.."
I looked at the ground.
He stood up.
"C'mon.."
I met his dark eyes.
I was worried at how in control he was right now, I knew he hadn't been eating; his eyes were deep and dark. But I didn't want to say anything, and I followed him quickly to the parking lot, he led me to his black 2005 Farary. I quickly got inside as he started it.
"are we going somewhere?"
I clicked my seat belt on.
"well I know how you are..so I thought we should go where we can talk in private"
He said driving out of the parking lot.
He was right in a way, but I could'v contained all the questions to myself.
"so where are we going?"
"where ever you want..maybe a nice dinner.."
"oh..I all ready ate..."
"alright, then maybe to Lerane's"
"..well..she did say she was going out, so I'm sure shes already gone"
"ok then.."
He said making a U turn.
"ok..so shoot"
He said driving on.
I shook the water off of my shoulders and hair.
"..well..I was wondering how is it that your out here so early"
"ofcours, well theres a small storm coming, so theres going to be no sun for a bit"
"..right, that makes since.."
I hadn't noticed that he was already parking by the park, that way when aunt Lerane came home she wouldn't see the car.
"its still raining.."
I looked at him.
"I'll run..you can get on my back"
He smiled knowing how much I loved it when he took me running with him.
I opened my door and his quickly shut as he appeared in front of me.
"thank god theres no one outside.."
I said quickly getting on his back
He shoot the door and took off to the house, I gripped onto him tightly afraid we were going to his something. I had forgotten how fast he was it was better than any roller coaster I'd ever ride on.
I was afraid to blink, I wanted to see everything, its not everyday that I got to go through this.
Everything was just one big blur of mixed colors, suddenly everything went back to normal and all I could see was the front floor.
"ehehm!"
He cleared his throat.
"Oh..right.."
I let my feet touch the ground and let go of him.
"I think you broke my arm'
He chuckled a little.
"ha-ha-ha so funny.."
I said rolling my eyes.
I took out the keys and opened the door, we both walked in as i closed teh door behind me.
"I see this place hasn't changed"
he said smiling.
"Guess not huh!?"
I smiled a bit.
"so hows mom?"
He asked as he sat on the couch.
"Shes in France, she had to move there for a bit, but shill be back in a bout 4 months"
I said sitting next to him.
He noted.
"but I'm sure you already knew that.."
I gave him a small glare.
He chuckled a bit.
"yes..yes I did.."
I smiled a little.
"Does it still hurt?"
My voice lowered, and now his smile was gone again.
I don't understand why he hated when I talked about it, I have a righ to know.
"..only when I'm careless.."
he looked straight forward at the window.
"..you haven't eaten, have you?"
"..not as often as I should"
His eyes met mines; it was a bit scary.
"Do you trust me?"
He asked.
"..Yes, I always do.."
I said resting my head on his shoulder.
"is this ok?"
I stiffened.
"Yes, don't worry, just because I'm hungry dosn't mean I'm not in control.."
He lowered his town.
"right.."
I raped my arms around his shoulders again.
"I missed you Leam"
I hugged him tighter.
"Iv missed you as well, but you know I have visited before"
I quickly sat up.
"Damnit! I bet it was when I was asleep!"
He smiled.
"..yes"
"damnit Leam! why don't you wake me up?"
"You have school, and I wouldn't want you start interogating me in the middle of the night"
"..I'm sure I could contain myself..till the morning.."
He chuckled.
