Hooray im so happy. Im so in love. Hes so cute! He's very good and cuddly. A great breastfeeder right from the get go! Hes such a good boy. He quiets down pretty easily. I dont even mind when he's screaming his head off. Its music to my ears. Hes so darn cute when hes pissed. He HATES having his diaper changed! But other than that its been really easy.
I was losing the bloody show all day Wednesday, started timing contractions at around 9:00pm on Wed night. I was using the online timer...very handy!!...Cedric was oblivious to the fact that they were regular. We stayed up late tho, we were'nt very sleepy(oh boy has that changed). At about three am i told Cedric, "Im pretty sure im in labor here." He got all excited and nervey. We tried sleeping for about an hour or two. I let him sleep a while while i gathered up the bags and all the stuff to take. I called my mom at about 5:00am and said. Are you all ready? Boy did that wake her up! We Got to the hospital finally at about 6:30-7:00(Its an hour away). The contractions were like 3-5 minute apart but not too painful. Like really really bad period cramps or needing to go #2. We even stopped at Starbucks so we could use the bathroom and Ced could get some coffee. I was joking and laughing still....
We got to the hospital, and they put me in a room and hooked me up to a contraction monitor and baby HB monitor. But the stupid thing wasnt monitoring my contraction accuratly. It hardly showed them. So i think they were about to send me home...but thanks to my doctor and cuz i live an hour away from the hospital, they admitted me. At about 10am we went upstairs cuz a delivery room opened. Not really a private but two beds with a curtain between them and only one bathroom for the whole floor that thankfully i was next to. Still up and able to walk. No IV yet. Went to the bathroom. Dialated still to 3. Still laughing and joking....
11:00 Dr. Breaks my water. It trickled out. That was wierd. Felt like peeing of course.
Right after that, Ced went to get some lunch. still Dialated 3.
BAM! No more laughing and Joking! It was HURTING! I went from 3 to 6 in hardly any time! Mom called Cedric. "She dialated 6 and in alot of pain hurry back." I asked for some Stadol. (DID NOT WANT AN EPI) As soon as i got the shot my hubby was there and was holding onto my arm. I was only comfortable on my side, and the wieght of my arm was hurting my stomach, so he was holding it up....Stadol knocked me out so i could rest in between the pain. OH THE PAIN!!!!!! Rocking was helping i was rolling all over the bed And was ripping off the monitors...the nurse kept trying to find his HB but i couldnt stop moving around. i had to get out of the bed so bad and sit on a stool and rock, reluctantly she let me, just for a few minutes...it helped having a change.
Then the meds were wearing off and i thought i was gonna DIE! Some of the contractions were so bad they made me gasp all of a sudden. Nurse still trying to hang on to a HB and another nurse trying to examine me but the contractions were right on top of eachother so i couldnt let her in...But finally after my 2nd shot she caught a break and slipped in and said OH WoW, Your're 10! You're ready! You can push, go ahead. ( i had been pushing but didnt realize it)
Pushing was a strange sensation. It felt good tho. I cant explain why, but it was relieving. Im a good pusher. He was coming really fast!!! Too fast. OK STOP PUSHING THE DOCTOR ISNT EVEN HERE! But haha. Easier said than done. I swear like 6 people were buzzing around, one nurse was holding my kid's head in. my mom was freaking out, (she didnt understand why they wouldnt let me push him out w/out the doctor) Cedric was getting gloves on...It was a circus. But i couldnt stop, when you gotta you gotta!
Finally the doctor on call was coming, (Not my doc, he was still en route) I was pushing uncontrolably, but not hard cuz i didnt want to tear, i just wanted to relieve the urge. He runs in and the ladies are dressing him in glove and gowns and at first he was all like, ok im here no prob...but then he looked down there and ws like Holy Crap! Stop, just give me 30 seconds ok? Dont Push!
Pushing was easier than the contractions were. But it did hurt. I let out one big scream right at the end. I dont even know where it came from...it just came out as the baby did. That was a cool feeling. (The baby coming out) Like a jelly fish with bones. Weird! What a relief!!!
Honestly it wasnt that bad. I just had to keep telling myself it would all be over, it was all normal, and and the pain was for a purpose. If your not afraid, its a lot easier.
I was pushing so hard my muscles are still sore, specially my arm, i was holding onto the bed behind me.
Aw. He was so slimy. He has such a sweet cry. Then they wieghed him and did all that checking out stuff. 6.10! I was expecting an 8 pounder! Hes so small, none of the clothes we have fit. The hospital hat is even too big so im using one of my sock for his cap...
I held him and nursed him then, I gave him to daddy and a few minutes later, he pooped all over daddy! Poor Daddy. Good thing i packed a change of clothes for him.
I LOVE MY LITTLE GUY!

heart heart xd You're a lot braver than I am. I had an epidural. Good for you Britt, for hanging on so well and having a healthy baby.
