(Storyline post 2)
Her life was simple, that is, until that fateful day, the day that changed her life in ways few could imagine.
She was standing atop the walls of a great keep, with an unusual bow in hand and the finest elven armors she had even seen, covering her. To her right and left, were fifty archers, all holding similar bows to her own. What was most strange about the bows, was the weight. They were heavier than any standard bow and instead of smoothly crafted, had strange sharpened edges along their length, almost as if they were intended to cut whatever came in contact with them.
"It is almost time," a familiar masculine voice said from behind her. The sound of that voice was so comforting and thrilling at the same time. It was the man she loved. She turned slightyly to get what could possibly be her last look at him. His fair elven features, flowing blonde hair and striking blue eyes still took her breath away, even now. "Today we make our stand. There will be no retreat this time." His eyes were looking past her to the unholy hoard marching toward the keep's walls.
Taking his cue, she turned to observe their progess. It was all so strange. A part of her was calmer than she could ever recall being. This was going to work. She knew it because she had seen it work before. Time and time again. They would cross the hidden magical line she and her husband had placed out there. And her unit would rain arrows down upon their unprepared heads. They wouldn't have their shields up, because, they weren't within bow range, or so they thought. The front line would crumble and break, before they even faced their first foes...
With a jolt, Myra awakened to the warm sunlight touching her face. She sat up, in her familiar bedroom. Yet she knew that something had changed. Instinctively, she got up and thoroughly checked her room. Everything was in order. She could hear her father down in the kitchen, trying to fix breakfast. Still a bit uneasy with her dream and the sensation that something was different, she dressed then turned to the mirror to get her wild hair under control. It was then that she saw what had changed.
