Eh. I have nothing to write or do for that matter so this might be a short rant. To consider fully what metal has done for the world you have to go back all the ways to the 80's. During the Twisted Sister and Al Gore's wife feud, some conservative senators became popular because they constantly used metal as a scapegoat for the troubles of the world. This being said, there are numerous studies that specualte and statistically show that metal relieves stress and makes you intelligent.
Metal also keeps the cultures of the world alive. From bands like Enslaved which sing about Scandinavian pagan folklore to Dir En Gey who write lyrics about ancient Taiwan myths. This brings culture to the young people of that area and also teaches them a thing or two about history.
Also, who ever has read a lyrical booklet by a metal band can clearly see that they have far greater skill in articulating their lyrical content than any other style of music therefore making it clearly superior in grammarical skills. An example, Opeth. Any song from them screams artistry at master levels.
This is why Metal is great and other musical styles aren't so much.
