I'm signing up as we speak...
For those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is a contest in November. Your goal is to write 50,000 words during the course of the month of November.
You start the second November starts, you end at midnight on the last night of the month.
I tried it last year...
It's a b***h. Seriously
But I'm trying again...
AND I NEED YOUR HELP!!
Okay, I have two story ideas, and I can't pick which one I should go with. Both seem good to me, so here's a short summary of each:
The Ice Gate A young college student stumbles across a magnificent gate of ice, and meets a mythical creature who decides that she must go across the world to find the Masks, a group of people scattered across the world, who, when their masks are removed, become fantastic creatures and gods.
Shikigami A woman, distraught at the loss of her boyfriend, creates an artificial one (similar to a Golem), using magic and alchemy. It struggles to understand why it exists; it's Master's explaination doesn't cut it. Over time, the two become close, but all isn't as it seems when the woman's book on her methods goes public.
