If you are a dreamer, come in...
Now you see me...
Now you see me...

Now you see me, now you don't,
Here and gone with ne'er a sound,
Wrapped in lace and elegant coat,
As my body hits the ground.

Now you see me, now you don't,
In tower dark a princess fair,
The prince some think my only hope,
Will do his best to keep me there.

Now you see me, now you don't,
Behind my angel-wrought stained glass,
To show the world the life I wrote,
I never fully had the chance.

Now you see me, now you don't,
In this spider web of lace,
Escape these gilded bars I won't,
This lovely cage, a woman's place.

Now you don't.

Just a little something I had to write for English class. It had to be based off of a short story called, "Story of an Hour," which is about a woman in the 1890s who feels trapped in her role as a housewife. She dies at the end. ^ ^; Not the best thing I've ever written, but hey.

I like it. ;>3> Obviously. ;;xD My type of thing.

I think though, if you gave it a set meter, it'd flow a lot better. :3

Yeah, I didn't want to spend my entire life fixing it, it just being for a project. I did try and keep with a general syllable count range, 7-8 per line, and was sure to change things around whenever the words didn't sound good together, or the accent was on the wrong syllable. In fact, each line had the same amount as the other stanzas except for a few random exceptions...^ ^;
