it is one of the oldest hero-stories..."His name will live forever!"

it follows the basic plot well, but with some clver embellishments-Grendel attacked the mead-house because they were partying too loud&it hurt his ears. they also gave us an interesting resion why Grendel's Mother was more powerful&deadly then he was...she was angelina jolie...with digital gold paint on her!

the Dragon looked like what i think Smaug should look like-he glittered with gold...i thought him beautiful!!!(then again, i think he was supposed to be kinda bishi in his human-form)

i wonder tho- if some difference in the character of the fathers were reflected in the forms of the sons???

this film seems to mix cgi& live-action so well, it's hard to tell what's the one&what's the other!

of course, if you are fermiliar with the story, you alredy know what will happen-but please do not let that disuade you!


oh, &something i though cute...King Rothgar's Vizir kept trying to get people to pray to, or convert to beliving in "the new god, Crist/Jesus"

that is cute, because the original version of Beowulf was a oral story (like Homers works) but when it was written down, it was done so by Christian Monks &they 'Christianized' it. The original telling is lost to Time...

ps-lotsa blood. also, Beowulf seemed to be based on Prince of Persia, or Errol Flymn, when he fought Grendel...that was a cool scene...but there were lots of other too!
