Hello fellow non-existent readers! How is everyone today!! I'm currently fighting a cold at the moment but hopefully it will pass. sweatdrop
Now for people who don't know, i'm from Alberta, Canada. I've only ever been to Cuba, & my sister provinces. I have relatives that live near Portland, Oregon. We tried to see them a couple summers ago, but my father needed a "pardon" to enter the states. So we were denied access into the states & therefore, didn't get to see my cousins whom I miss so much. Another thing for people who don't know is my father has some real issues but I won't be discussing on here.
So it's Thanksgiving in the States & my father isn't going. My grandparents invite me to come & of course I said yes!! biggrin
So I get there & the first thing I thought was, 'It's cold.' xd But I was happy to be there. My aunt & uncle with my four cousins live on a mountain & let me tell ya, it's beautiful up there. there house is absolutely gorgeous.
My oldest cousin is 13 (i'm the oldest grandchild on both sides of my family. sweatdrop I don't feel old whatsoever... stare ) & when I saw her I couldn'tbelieve how much she looked like me! It was like staring into a mirror! Even to this day we find more & more things in common, including our recent love of photography.
So the first day there we all went for a walk & my cousin & I took pictures of EVERYTHING. It was pretty sweet. The same day, we went to my uncle's recording studio & he found out that I sing in a choir. I found a song that I knew & ended up singing Gun n' Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine" about four times. Then I sang Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" once. Good song. biggrin That day was also the day that the rest of the family came & I got to see my other two cousins that I barely get to see.
The next day was turkey day & I tell ya, that was the BEST turkey I have ever had in my young short life. the gravy was a little too sweet for my taste but everything else was amazing. then the rest of the night I attempted to put my jeans back on. xd
Sunday, all of the girls went out to go shopping. Me & my oldest cousin bought the exact same jacket & I realized that we both had similar tastes even in clothes! It was crazy kewl! blaugh I noticed that whenever I bumped a person or tried to move around a person I was the one who was always saying "sorry!" One chick even gave me a weird look after she got in my way & i said I was sorry. xd
the next day was when we left & I got up early to watch tow of my cousins get on the bus for school. Then soon after we left. At the airport I found out that America's iced tea tastes VERY diferent from Canada's iced tea. There's is literally tea...just cold. xd It was refreshing though. As soon as I hit Vancouver airport I ran straight to a Tim Horton's & had true nector of the gods.
so in the end, the only plane ride that was a bother was the very last one from Vancouver to Edmonton. Of Course. that would've made my life way to easy for me. But all in all it was an amazing adventure for me & i'm hoping to be going back to Portland sometime this summer.
heart Jessica
