Celeste's Life
Things going on that concern me, or short stories that I come up with and have no where else to put them.
Zantarni
Weird name, huh? It's another customizable/dressable avatar forum. I found it through a friend who decided to frequent it to avoid the hacker problems on Gaia she's been having. (Which makes me sad, but I understand).

So I signed up so I could still roleplay with my friend. Let me tell you first off, the clothes are expensive. There are very few low priced items. But, that doesn't bother me. I understand the reasoning for that as well. It's medium hard to make money, what with getting no money from posts (because they are length-based) and getting 20-50 from the games.

What currently has me miffed is that I decided to post up my story there to get new feedback and allow my friend to still view it. So, like any good newcomer, I read the frequently asked questions/rules for the Writers Forum.

Keep it PG-13. You can have worse, but you have to link out to it and warn people first. Okay, no problems here except for some mild swearing.

No fanfics. Once again, no problem because mine is an original story.

Tips for collaboration. Well, it's my story and no one is helping. Good to go still.

And that is pretty much it. There were a few posts afterwards with questions that weren't covered. For example, double-posting. Three different people asked about that in the writer's forum. There was no answer to any of them. The reason for the question is that there is a forum rule that states no double-posting (to cut down on spam and bumps). But does that mean you have to wait for a reply before posting the next section of your story? No answer.

So I post an intro stating what I wanted critiqued on my story. This in itself turned out to be a pretty hefty post. I didn't want to add five more pages to it (that's the length of the first chapter). So I did that in a new post (and put up a poll asking if the post was too long or good to go).

I had no replies in a week. Then I got two poll votes (one for each option) and a post from what I think is a mod. This posts states (and I quote) "I am inclined to ask you to combine your first two posts into one. We're trying to enforce the "no double-pointing" rule in all forums." Well geez, you could possibly mention that in the stupid frequently asked questions thread, which asked 3 times!!!

But okay. I'll go ahead and combine the posts and have an even bigger wall of text that nobody will want to read and won't reply to (except for possibly "your posts are too long!" wink . Except that they don't make the forum board intuitive. There is no way to delete the post that I can find. Oh, there's a way to delete the post after the one the mod made, but not the one before. *sigh*

I have half a mind to find a way to delete the whole thread. It's sad, but I'm already sick and tired of that forum board. No replies, and the first one was that. It's rather discouraging. At least here, I can post my story in nice bite-sized pieces, and I would get more feedback. Granted, probably not the greatest feedback in most cases, but at least I would know that someone is reading it and a few people would leave good feedback.

BTW, if you are curious about the story, I have it posted in the guild under the title of 'Spreading of the Lore'.
