Gavin is, quite frankly, a handsome man. You can thank being a vampire for that. He stands at a grand height of six foot even, with a thin, but muscled body to match. His skin isn’t unusually pale, but it’s just a few shades lighter than a normal person’s as he spends most of his time in the Court’s mansion. His hair is cut fairly short and often styled haphazardly. It’s color is a mix between a light blonde and a silvery cream with a few dark brown-black highlights in his bangs. His eyes are a light bluish-gray color.
His sense of style is best described as eclectic. He has a black tattoo down the left side of his face, one that he decided to get on a whim. He also sports another similar tattoo on his left bicep. He has a number of piercings on both of his ears, along with a wide range of different earrings that he’s collected over the years. He has an even more diverse supply of rings, bracelets, and necklaces as well, not to mention various other accessories. However, the most mixed aspect of his choice in fashion would be his clothes themselves. Gavin will wear anything he likes, whether it’s considered dressy, nerdy, dark, or ‘preppy’. It doesn’t make a difference to him as long as he thinks it looks good and it’s comfortable.

For a ‘king’, Gavin is oddly laidback. Perhaps it is the (generally) good behavior of his subordinates that makes him feel so at ease, but he’s hardly ever stressed out about anything. Even now, whenever two of his own Court members have been captured and the Guild wants his head on a silver platter more than ever for capturing their leader, he still manages to keep up his politeness and cheerfulness.
Despite this, however, he does have a serious side to him. Whenever it’s time to get to business, he allows very little room for jokes or other unproductive behaviors. When it comes to having to punish someone for breaking the vampire laws, he’s known to be merciful but only if there’s just cause for it. In other words, if you’re guilty, he will find out in the long run even if you’re rather convincing when you say you are innocent.
Gavin is very good at handling people, which is one of the main reasons that he was allowed to assume the title of King and keep the position without much challenge. He’s easy to talk to for most, and not at all afraid to strike up a friendly conversation if he feels like it. Despite his position, he’s rather modest about it.

Gavin was born into a vampire family nearly one hundred years ago, back when vampires were a rare breed. His family, as well as a few others of their kind, had found a place to seclude themselves from the rest of society. He grew up educated by his parents and a few other more intelligent vampires, though he never went to any type of real school. Regardless, he thrived and grew up to be bright and creative.
Whenever he got to his teenage years and his body’s aging slowed down, he’d proven himself among the now large group of vampires that he’d grown up with. He was very diplomatic, smart, and strong. So, whenever the talk of forming a hierarchy of vampires started, Gavin was quickly recommended for the job. As young as he was, only a few contested this, though he quickly won them over to his side. It was then that he picked his Court and the real vampire royalty began.
A few years ago—a little over a decade or two—Gavin was still doing a fine job at upholding the peace among the vampires. However, when he met a human that had discovered their secret, he made the first disastrous mistake of his life. Instead of dealing with the human as he should have, he’d instead fallen in love with them. At first, they were strongly opposed to this, but soon the human began to reciprocate the feelings—or began to act as if they did, at least. For almost a year, this went on despite protest from some of the Court members. In the end, however, the King awoke one day to find his beloved human gone with a new organization opposing the vampires formed by that same human only shortly after. He was devastated, of course, and never quite got over the loss.
Today, he still thinks about the human from time to time, especially now that he has to keep such a close eye on their son. He reminds Gavin of his past, supposed lover so much that it’s eerie at times and he often has to entrust the other’s supervision to someone else for a time while he goes away to clear his mind.
