Well after growing up like I did. You can imagine the years of messing up my life. The friends I picked, the men I picked. I was just doing what I new. Even though I was unhappy and I didn't like it, I kept living the way I was raised.
At the age of 22 I lost 100lbs. That helped get some self worth back. But it also attracted a lot of men. I was fearful and stayed clear of dating for at least 4 years.
I started therapy during those years. Untangling the mess. I still was very numb inside, I remember the therapist trying to get any emotion out of me, I was just numb about my past.
I went through at least 7 relationships, all the same. Used me, left me, and cheated on me. It was my past over and over again. I couldn't break the chain.
At 29 yrs old, I bought my own business. This was a good step for me. I was good at this business. I then bought my own house. I was proud of myself.
My mom sold her house in 24 hrs, and didn't have a place to go yet, so she came and stayed with me until she found her condo. We never looked for a condo, she stayed 4 yrs. We had so much fun. I cannot tell you what these 4 yrs meant to me. I had my mom, my real mom. We grew together out of that horrible past. We healed in so many ways. She took care of my business paper work, I worked. She cooked and enjoyed life. On weekends we rode bikes, hiked, walked to Dairy queen for an ice cream. This was truly one of the best times of life.
Mom got a call from a man she dated one time when she was 13. They started seeing each other. We played cards on the weekends and drank wine, and mom was happy.
They married a year later.
