Religion is a very intresting thing. It marvels me how only humans tend to show it. It is also something I have decided that our species cannot live without as a whole.
It is a necessary part of society in general for various reasons. To some, it may be the only thing that gives their lives a purpose while to others it is their job.
Heh, I have determined that without it there would not a be a functioning organism that I call the human race. It makes up so much of our culture that the dullnes and blandness of a world without it creates a frightening thought. Wars fought over are also inventiable of happening since it is also in the natural human logic of fighting for what one believes in. Wars of Religion are like those of Politics. It will happen.
But that is not a suitable reason why some seem to abhor it. People are scared of change and difference, therefore something unknown to them will, at times, seem unsuperior or idiotic. Religion has never caused wars or destruction, only ignorant human beings have. An idea of such greatness as Religion will function best when everyone in this world can better themselves mentally and spiritually.

Technically, all religions were meant to be peaceful (yes, even the muslims) but its the ignorant zealots from each religion that go too far and give religion a bad name, like the christian crusaders and al-quaida (idk how its spelled) for example.
