5-2 Win
12:41 PM: Tonight, there's gonna be a good old Habs-Bruins Rivalry. The season serie is 4-0 for Montreal. Both Cristobal Huet and Carey Price have two match against the Bruins. Andrei Markov and Zdeno Chara were selected to play at the all-stars game as starters. So both of them will face off tonight. Brian Smolinski got the green light from the doctors to play, and will play. Steve Begin has practiced with the team but will not play. His shoulder is not fully retablished.
9:09 PM: 2-0 Montreal after 1 period! Great offence from Montreal in the beginning of the period. I only hope Montreal is not thinking that they've won, because Boston is fighting back hard. Huet made one great play, well one that I liked, when he threw the puck towards Thomas... I was hoping Thomas would throw it back. Bruins is starting the period on a PP so I hope they won't be lazy. Description of first period goal: Marco Sturm gets a penalty and Montreal's best PP goes to work. Andrei Kostitsyn to Kovalev, Kovalev to Plekanec. Pleks tries to pass the puck but it hits all-star defenseman Zdeno Chara and jumps in the net. 1-0 Montreal. Then, about one minute later, Michael Ryder misses his attempt to clear but so did the Bruins player. The puck is on center ice and Chris Higgins picks it up. As he gets to the right face off circle, he shoots. Tim Thomas did not control the puck and it goes behind him. Maxim Lapierre rushes and pushes the puck in the net. 2-0 Montreal.
3-1 Montreal. Ugh, horrible bruins' goal! It bounced off the glass and then, Huet. I won't blame him. He's been great so far as well as Thomas. Power play strikes once more, baby! Okay, I am beginning to hate Boston. Four cheap shots at our guys. One, the elbow on Komisarek. It could have broke his jaw. Two, the punch in the face of Koivu. Come on, Koivu?! Three, Thornton's punch on Hamrlik. Hammer couldn't even defend himself! Four, Lucic hits Komi when he clearly knows that he was hurt. I feel that Lucic and Komisarek will like each other when they'll meet in the future. And Komi made great defensive play... Yeah, Habs did give some hits, some harder to watch than others, but still legal. 23-15 shots on goal for Montreal. Description of Goals: On the powerplay, Tomas Plekanec flicked the puck towards Mark Streit. Streit gets the puck to Kovy on the other side of the net and he does his thing, sniping it in the goal. 3-0 Montreal. Aaron Ward's shot off bounced on Huet and made it in the net. 3-1 Montreal.
10:04 PM: Oy! Habs win 5-2! Great game! The intensity could have been better, but it was awesome anyways! I am now sure that Komisarek and Lucic are best buddies now! They were at it each time the other was on the ice. I can't wait until they meet each other without punches! Mike is a warrior, an absolute warrior! He gets injured, about two times, and comes back and plays like a gladiator. Most goals were made by turnovers or giveaways or even bad luck. Smolinski didn't really do anything to help, but he did get a pass, so congrats. Dandenault, on the other hand, got two goals! I think we should scratch players a bit more! xd Still some stuf f to work on though. 6 points in between Montreal and Boston in the standings. 5-0 Montreal in the season series. Description of goals: Boston scored and Huet was beat. 3-2 Montreal. Mathieu Dandenault beats a Bruins and goes towards the net, he shoots and he scores with the puck crawling in between Thomas' pads. 4-2 Montreal. Dandenault passes to Brian Smolinski, he gives the puck to Mark Streit on the other side. It's a two on one. #32 puts the puck on Dandenault's stick. Dandy only had to redirect the puck, Thomas was beat. 5-2 Montreal.
My three Stars: 1-Mathieu Dandenault 2-Alex Kovalev 3-Mike Komisarek Honorable Mentions: Tomas Plekanec, Mark Streit.
Next game: New York Rangers, January 12th.
