It glistened off my face
As he walked out the door
He left me standing there
And I slipped to the floor
I tried to call him back
I tried to ask why
He just started avoiding me more
Ever since he said goodbye
I could hear my heart shatter
And I started to cry
I think he heard it too
Because he slipped up and wiped my eyes dry
He said, "I'm so sorry. I didn't want to hurt you."
He told me he loved me
And dared to hope if I would take it as the truth
But that's when I saw it
It sparkled from his eyes
And I couldn't help but fall in his arms and start to cry
We whispered I love you's
And much, much more
And held each other close
As our tears of joy fell to the floor
