Horses of the Sun: Definition
In classical mythology, the horses of the sun drew the chariot of the sun god Helios across the sky. After pasturing in the Isles of the Blessed in the far west, the horses were harnessed to the chariot each morning by the Horae and began their daily journey from dawn to dusk. The horses were Actaeon, Aethiops, Ameethea, Astrope, Bronte, Erytheros, Lampon, Phaethon, Phlegon, Purocis, Pyroies and Sterope. In Scandinavian myth, the horses Alsvid, Arvak, Hrimhaxi and Skinfaxi. In Indian belief, they are Gandarvas.
